So far so bad installed it correctly notch in housing lined up with the lug on the oring and refilled my cooling system. Started it let it get warm and it will not open. Cooling system got up to 245 degrees and the thermostat still won't open.

I paid the premium price for this thermostat because it claimed to be a GM item. It is in fact a cheaply made Motorad. It is 4 mm smaller in diameter than the factory GM part. Will it fit? Sort of. Will it open and close at the proper temp? Maybe. Did I expect better from West Coast Corvettes? Yes. If you want a cheap thermostat get one of the $14 ones, if you want an actual GM part don’t buy this one.

Put this in a 2007 C6 with LS2. Install took all of about 15 minutes. Stock temp used to run around 210, now consistently runs around 185 during the summer, 165 - 170 in the winter. Note it only keeps temps down while moving. Sitting in traffic or at lights will still climb to 200.
