This little gadget speeds up the gnocchi making process, and your gnocchi come out with perfect little ridges on them. You simply roll and cut your gnocchi as usual. Then, once your gnocchi are cut you simply roll them one at a time down this board. It's easy, it's fast, my kids can do it and your gnocchi end up looking beautiful.

Having made homemade gnocci for years the old fashioned way (using a fork for the marks) - I was skeptical - but this is really effective and easy and fun! Also it helps give even marks to each piece which helps with cooking time. Highly recommend!

When I was really young, my family lived in Italy for a few years. My mom learned to make gnocchi there, and has made it through the years. It's one of my favorite pasta dishes and I learned to make it from my mom. But my gnocchi was never as good as hers. All the people who ate mine loved it, but mine was the only gnocchi they'd ever had, and I knew it was never as good as my mom's.I saw a gnocchi board being used one day on the food channel and wondered what it was, as my mom had never used one, and I didn't know they existed. I promptly ordered this one from Amazon, and when it showed up, I went over to a friend's place to try it out. As usual, they were well pleased, but what was better was that *I* was finally satisfied! I'd finally made gnocchi that rivaled my mom's! I actually did a victory dance in the kitchen. You've no idea how great it felt. I never told my mom, and don't plan to, of course, but I finally did it.The gnocchi board was what finally allowed me to make better gnocchi than I'd ever done before. It was a lot smaller than I expected, though why I was expecting a big one is beyond me as you only roll one piece of gnocchi at a time, so it's the perfect size. It's big enough for large pieces of gnocchi as well as smaller, average size, which is what I make.I make the dough, roll it out like a snake, cut the pieces, then roll the pieces into a ball. Then I lightly roll the ball down the gnocchi board which widens it and gives it ridges, then put the pieces into the boiling water. The fatter pieces I squeeze just a touch before I put into the water. I used to do as my mom did and use my knuckle on the individual pieces, but like I say, it never came out as good for some reason. The gnocchi board made all the difference.Even if your gnocchi comes out good already, try the gnocchi board. It'll make it even better. And for the price, it's worth trying out.

I bought the gnocchi board for my daughter and the gnocchi came out so beautifully and looked very professional. We have always made them by either pressing with our fingers or with a fork, but the board is easier, faster and the final result is so pretty.

If your into making your own Gnocchi, After using this one time, you'll never go back to using the tins of a fork...... it's so easy to use. I'm finding my self finding different recipes and trying them all with this new toy. It's really easy to use and they come out just like Mario's. It's great........ and the cost is no big deal....... However, you do have to take care of this, it's real wood, and needs to be treated as such....... not the top shelf of the dishwasher...... this needs to be brushed clean, wiped down and put away dry.......

I can't complain considering the options in the US, but I really love the one I bought in Argentina much better, the shape is more for the gnocchi, rounded top, not a rectangle board kind of big for the little gnocchi. Considering there's not much available here, is ok and of course much better than having to use a fork for shaping. If you never used other types of gnocchi boards, you won't know the difference. The price is cheap too!
