Very happy with this purchase. Bar is sturdy and rigid when in place. So good to have the options for different hand placements and the design means you are not restricted but the doorway.

I was a bit nervous after reading negative reviews, but all the parts were there, all the holes lined up exactly, and assembly was simple, except that the provided spanners are rather flimsy. I used a shifting spanner on one side instead. The unit functions as it should, and I have since added the Coreslings straps and handles that clip on to the device’s rings. It’s what I needed while COVID restrictions keep us in an apartment with the gym closed.Note that it’s not extendable and wouldn’t fit a wider than standard doorway, and I’m not sure how it would stand up to a person over 100 kg. I’m 78 kg and the main bar bends a little with my full weight on it.

Wasn’t shipped for over a week. Pad has already come off the back and it’s pretty flimsy. Not sure I’d really recommend it again

For close to a decade now I have searched for, purchased and tested multiple door frame chin up bars in my search for the promised land. After many years of looking I thought I had found the best door frame chin up bar, until I found the GoFit Unisex Elevated Chin Up Station.I had to replace my previous P90X style bar due to wear and tear and I nearly purchased another of the same until on something like page 4 of the Amazon search results I came across the GoFit.It is so obviously better than all the rest, just by looking at the design.Of course it makes more sense to have the front 'handle' bar raised. There is one other known 'raised' bar on the market but the front bar is thin, straight and has no foam grips so doesn't beat the P90X style bar.I can't believe the other manufacturers have missed it and we punters have had to suffer through low chin up bar madness. The proof then was going to be in the actual use.It is very solid and very easy to put together; easier than previous bars.As a result of the raised handle bar is it so much easier for me to use (I am 6'1")I am able to extend my legs much further, rather than having to curl them underneath me to obtain full range of arm movement. In addition, the hooks for hanging straps to allow knee and leg raise ab workouts work perfectly.I purchased a pair of hanging straps which fit easily through the hooks and allow the most intense and focused ab exercises i have ever known. In summary, if you are reading this and thinking of purchasing a door frame chin up bar look no further than this.Yes its a few pounds more expensive than others but this is a product you will use for years so the extra pounds become irrelevant compared to the massive benefits of using the best piece of kit available. One final note of praise, the rear has three points to attach meaning you have choice of how high you want your bard to go; genius!!Just so you don't think this is a completely one sided review I would prefer it in black instead of bright red but this matters not when you get to your final chin up of the set and you need to lie down and have a little cry. Hope this review helps!

Ordered Sunday evening, arrived Tuesday. Very fast delivery.Minor glitch - one bolt missing. Found replacement bolt in garage so no big issue. Was using a standard door pull up bar till I got this. The extra height is so much better and easier to use as you don't have to bend legs as much. Very sturdy and excellent bar compared to previous one.Would have given it 5 stars but for the missing bolt.

Ordered this pull up bar over another one I had my eye on that was about 10 dollars cheaper (30 bucks). I decided to spend another 10 on this one because I liked the fact that it is elevated and I could see how someone might hit their head on the door frame using one of the normal ones. I was a little worried putting it together as other reviewers said that it had the potential to be uneven. As long as you follow the instructions that come with it you will be fine. Dont tighten everything until the end, when they have you flip it up side down and tighten everything from the top down. I love that there are multiple hand positions, this was definitely something I wanted with a pull up bar. The padding on the bar is ok, would have been a little better i think with thick rubber, as you will definitely get calluses on your hands if you do not use gloves, which I have. It was a little scary at first trusting the bar to hold me (even tho I am about 200 pounds and it is rated for 300 pounds). But I quickly got over it as it supports my weight with ease. I would urge you to place towels between your door frame and the bottom of the bar that touches the door frame (not the part that goes behind and above the door frame, but the lower part that goes on your side if that makes sense) as your weight on the bar will leave imprints. Also kinda would have been nice to know what tools you need to build it as it states you only need one adjustable wrench, when you really need 2. One to hold the bolt and one to hold the nut on the back. Despite these minor things i still give it a 5 star rating because it does what its supposed to do and I can trust that it holds my weight. Last thing to note that I realize when they made this bar (and really any door frame pull up bar) they try to incorporate other exercises into it, like the push ups and sit up and dips, but really if you are going to buy this bar, or any other, but it for the pull ups. The other features are just extras and are pretty worthless. As a side note I like that you can add attachments like the pull up assist rope, or the leg raise straps. Even tho these seem to be rather expensive, its nice to have that option.

I thought I had done a fair bit of research mainly reading others reviews before purchasing this product, the funny thing was I tried to buy another door mounted chin up bar from Ebay but the seller basically didn't respond to communication and then eventually Ebay had the guy refund the money (they didn't even give me the satisfaction of posting some ordinary feedback, they just closed the case). This turned out to be a blessing in disguise, because as soon as I found I wasn't going to get it, I found this one which actually has turned out to be a much better piece of equipment for me. To start with the price is very reasonable, the shipping was very fast (I live in Asia); the packaging was sturdy, intact and secure, thanks Amazon. The Elevated Chin -Up Station is just that, elevated above the door, I put it on the highest setting which works well for me being 6'3", any lower like the other bar I tried to order and I'd be holding my legs up uncomfortably high. Straight out of the box I put it together in around 10 minutes, all the bolt holes lined up perfectly and was careful enough not to scratch it too much as other reviewers have mentioned. I bought it for the P90X program and weigh around 96kgs, even when reaching the end of the rep range where my form gets a little jerky the unit feels solid and I feel safe.Overall I would have to say I am very pleased with the purchase both from Amazon's service and the product quality. One thing I have noticed is that one of the foam pads that protects the door frame is starting to tear but this is probably because I live in an older flat and the door jamb is kind of angled so the outer edge of it cuts into the foam. This was soon fixed with a little duct tape and the marks on the door are unnoticeable. Even if I broke this one somehow, I would buy it again that is of course unless I have space for work out room and a free standing unit!

So after doing some research on what pullup bar would be the best for me I came across this bar. It is elevated so you are far away from the door when doing pullups, seemed to be made of high quality metals and seemed overall the sturdiest most well thought out pull up bar.Upon receiving this pull up bar, I discovered that most of these things were true, it is a sturdy steel product, the tubes are not weak at all, but very strong. The craftsmanship of the product itself seems spot on, especially compared to some other door mount pull up bars I have seen. The product was well packaged and seemed brand new. After unpacking it and starting to assemble it I ran into a few problems. First off, I noticed that the sealed bag containing the screws and hardware was missing one of the 2 small philips head screws used to mount the 2 peice straight bar and the 2 peice curved bar together. Overall this isnt a huge problem, and judging from how those bars are mounted to the curved frame bars on the sides I didn't think it would even matter that it was missing. Either way I had to go to work so I left it to be constructed later. While at work (I work at lowe's, I found a very similar screw that was left over from a cabinet we were assembling, and lowe and behold!(no pun intended :]) It fit into the bar fairly well, holding my straight bar very sturdily together. Now the next problem in the construction, For some reason the screw holes that line up with the curved bars and the straight bar (where the eye loop screws go through) were not drilled perfectly even. I was eventually after much trying to force both screws through the misaligned holes forced to unscrew the straight bar(and in the process, stripping the hole out a bit) and then attaching both peices of the straight bar to the curved frame separately and then securing the straight bar together with my replacement screw. This stripped out the hole of the screw a bit, but it still seems very sturdy. The rest of the setup went without flaws and the pullup bar feels very sturdy once assembled.I tried it on most of my indoor doors, but as this old house has the ceiling perhaps 1/4 inch from the top of the doorjam, it would not fit on any of them. Which is not the products fault at all, but more the ancient design flaws of my mid 70's house. Eventually I found one spot that i could use it with some slight modification. I ended up opening just one of my double arcadia doors leading to the backyard, and am able to secure it through the open door to the frame on one side and the other closed door on the other side. The door is slightly recessed from the wall which makes it very unstable, but I found that if i stuff a book into the space between the door and the straight support bar, it holds up very well, and I am able to perform pullups without problems. As for the function of the bar itself, seems to work great, solid construction, havent noticed any scuffs on the door, although it does creek a bit when I pull up on it(the door that is, not the bar, which is solid),it doesnt bother me. It has several different hand mounts for wide grip, closer grip and chin ups.Overall I am pleased with this product and would recommend it to others. However I am going to detract 1 star for the missing screw/misaligned holes. And one tip if you do buy this pull up bar, I recommend securing the straight bar to the 2 peices of the frame BEFORE you secure the two halves of the straight bar together with a screw. Even though the straight bar step comes first in the instructions. It definitely made the installation much more painless and I wish I had thought of it before I stripped out that middle screw a bit. No biggie.Cheers
