I have used this to lay bricks. This is a high quality trowel for mortar work. I have also been using this trowel in my garden, where I really have to cut at roots to remove small weedy bushes.A professional grade tool - 5 stars

So it's an off label use, but I actually used this this patch some plaster, and I was quite pleased with the results. I had a couple of crumble-type holes and a lot of cracks, and this filled them well. It, of course, required some sanding and touching up, but once painted over, it looks good. It was comfortable to use, has good grip, and has just a little tiny bit flex when using it. Cleaned up great. In general, it looks and feels pretty well made - it's definably not junk. Overall worth it.

The overall quality of this pointing trowel is decent. I have used Goldblatt tools for tile laying and sheetrock mudding. In my experience Goldblatt has proven to be a quality brand. I needed a Pointing trowel and when I found this Goldblatt one, it made sense to me with the experience of the previous tools.The handle part, as with the other Goldblatt tools, is comfortable and well made. On the body part, the quality does not seem up to par with the other tools from this same brand. The size is great for doing small repairs. Overall, a good tool.

I did not realize how many similar sized trowels I had until I took the attached photo for this review. Perhaps that is because the others are all forgettable, even though you can see from the photo that a couple of seen a lot of use. I ordered this trowel in part because I recognized the Goldblatt name and thought the company made high quality, professional tools in the USA. While I was disappointed to learn that the original Goldblatt company has exchanged hands many times and their tools are now made in China, the quality does not seem to have suffered. In any case, in this review I am rating it in comparison to my other homeowner-quality masonry tools and on this basis 5 stars seems justified. The handle is far more comfortable and the build quality much better than that of my other trowels.

A quality heavy tool ruined by poor craftsmanship. As you can see the point is off center as well as the grinding. I worked on the point a little, but there's just no way to center the point. Otherwise, this is a quality trowl. A little thick but with a comfortable gripI just cannot get by the off center tip. Hopefully, this is not an indication of overall poor quality. I am hesitant to recommend this product.

It is branded as a pointing trowel; for pointing this size of trowel is good. If you're planning on laying a lot of new bricks, this trowel is on the small side [6-inch] compared to other masonry trowels with 12-inch blades or 10-inch blades that might be more suited for laying concrete blocks or for professional bricklaying work. This item has a rubberized handle for a better grip. Item carried a California cancer warning label when received, perhaps related to the handle's material.At the time of reviewing, there were better deals on this item. For instance, under the 'ESreake' brand on Amazon, you can buy 2 near-identical trowels, one with a blunted end [gauging trowel], for less money than this item.

I my experience, Goldblatt masonry tools are elite. They are well made and last even under the roughest work conditions. This pointing trowel is flat out excellent. It is perfectly balanced, which makes it easy to handle and finish pointing activities. The cushioned handle enhances the comfort of using this tool. Overall, this is an excellent pointing trowel made by a great company that produces the best masonry tools.
