This is a nice fan. My first reaction was that it was too small to do much good, but I was surprised. It puts out a steady breeze, and as long as you're sitting pretty close (the width of the column of air output matches the compact size), or you're in an enclosed space, you're going to feel it.It's highly adjustable - it can be adjusted to any angle, including flippled backwards, and it can oscillate a full 180 degrees if you want to sacrifice some battery life for a broader coverage area. I especially like the dial for the fan speed. It's adjustable via the large knob in very small increments, allowing you to "Dial in" the best fan speed/battery life combination for your situation. The display is also great, showing the fan speed (or battery life) as a percentage of max. As for battery life, it's very good. I left it on high overnight and it was still going strong the next morning, with about 50% battery remaining. This was with the light and oscillation off.It has other nice touches as well, including a timer to turn it off after a preset amount of time, and the light, which goes from very bright to what the manufacturer describes as nightlight mode. I think it's a little brighter than that, but it's a nice touch, even outside to show you you're at the right campsite or to light up some obstacles that could sneak up on you walking in the dark.Lastly, there's a hook to hang it from a canopy, rope, or tree, so there are a lot of options to place the fan. The lighter-than-average weight makes this much easier than with some alternative fans.

We have several rechargeable fans that we have for emergency use during grid down events and for use on the patio. These fans have become our go to fans for daily use though. A lot of our friends also admire these fans and ask about them. We're on the Texas Gulf Coast and starting in April we have warm and humid evenings, plus the mosquitoes are often pretty rapacious. The fan speed control on these fans is very easy to adjust, you don't have to pick from just a couple of options. I like the oscillating feature as well because it makes the mosquitoes work so hard they often give up. If you try using a fan that doesn't oscillate the mosquitoes can figure out where they can slip in to bite you. These fans make it much harder for them. They seem to discourage flies as well during the day.The fans are powerful yet quiet. They also have a light function and they can be used to recharge other devices in a pinch. We don't use those features that much, but they would all be very useful in a grid down event. The fans are quiet enough that they shouldn't affect anyone's ability to sleep. We used the fans for a couple of hours almost daily for 2 to 3 weeks before I noticed that the light indicating they had 25% or less of a charge remaining. These fans have large, 20,000 mAh batteries, so they take a few hours to fully charge. I can live with that since they have so many useful features and they also have such a long run time. The remotes are nice to have. We don't use them often, and they have a nice storage nook on the back. They'd probably be super nice to use during a grid down event though, or if you hung the fans from a ceiling so that you could easily control the fans and lights without much effort. The remotes don't snap into the nooks, so they won't stay in place if the fan is hung upside down, and it is kind of easy to knock them out of place if you aren't careful. I use a piece of blue painter's tape to hold the remotes in place so they don't fall out when the fans are stored in the closet along with a ton of other stuff.
