I opened the box and cried....it’s so gorgeous with incredible details. Such an amazing addition to our barn. It’s big and very noticeable. Neighbors slow down to take a look. Could not be happier with this purchase! Will buy another for our back house!

Had this at another house and was happy to find it at amazon for my new place!. It does make a metal swinging noise in big winds that is heard in the house. Very solid and heavy, and a true repro of the old trotters.

This "blue verde" color looks more like grey shiny paint than aged, verde copper. I previously had a shiny copper one of these in my yard that aged to a dark brown and I and am replacing it after about 10 years - I thought this one would be truly verde aged copper - but it clearly isn't. Don't like the finish - it looks NOTHING like the pictures of these. Afraid this will wear off and be dark brown again.

The weathervane is striking, beautiful and exceeded expectations. It is the perfect size for a 3' x 3' cupola and looks beautiful on our barn. It is huge when looking at it in the box. I thought it was too big and too heavy. But the roofer assured me that from the ground it would be the right size and it is. It works well, changing with the wind. It has already started to patina at 6 weeks and I like the look it is becoming too. The recommended roof mount is good for a roof, but not for a cupola. Highly recommend and would buy this again.

This thing is beautiful close up and from a distance. It was easy to assemble and install. It points into the wind with admirable precision. We are particularly pleased with the weathered copper patina which I hope will maintain this lovely horse's attractiveness for many decades.

This was originally intended to be displayed in my kitchen over a large range, but after receiving it I am reconsidering. While it is a really pretty weathervane, I think it is something that would be better viewed from a distance because the welding/seam that binds the 2 sides, as well as where the head is connected (throat area), is rather sloppy. This may not bother some, but I would not have expected it from the photo (especially given the price).Bottom line: If you aren't going to be viewing it up close, go for it. It's large and overall a pretty piece. Otherwise, I'd pass.
