Been handling items like these for over six decades. STRONGLY suggest a free hanging for a bit and a VERY easy, light and long duration break in. This part I've received is as stiff as a seven year old [expired] tire, though a whiff of the smell of rubber is barely detectable. Here's hoping I get 180K out of this as did the still good OE Conti.
