This product is designed for regular 540 brushed motor, its not designed to run on high power brushless motors. It will work, but it wont last a long time.

Paired this unit with a 45t motor in my Hg P802 and it now has enough torque to pull a 65 pound load up a very steep incline.

Pinion gear shattered some teeth, though that may be due to me grabbing it with pliers and trying to drill the ID bigger.

I purchased this and a crawler motor for a Rock Rey build. I had to cut the output shafts of both to fit. No grease at all in the gear housing but not a big deal.No mounting screws is my #1 complaint.

I bought this for a 1/8th scale Escalade trail truck project built off a 4wd slash.So, overall this is well-made, but poorly designed. For that my three stars are for the following reasons:1. Unless you are using a Tamiya motor with a very short output shaft, you are going to need to cut down the shaft of the motor as every other motor, from axial, rc4wd, traxxas, and random stuff in-between will not allow unit to go back together as the gearbox is not deep enough.2. There is no lubricant inside the gear box. I'm going to suggest a robust synthetic lubricant. Perhaps Lucas oil synthetic stabilizer or similar.3. The planet gears have no bearings or replaceable bushing. This is where the failure will be with high stress or long run loads.4. The output shaft is very long. This may be a problem if you are gearing down smaller 1/10 scale stuff with an enclosed gearbox. (Tamiya, old hpi, ect)I have ordered a second one so if this one does fail, I'll be able to replace it quickly. Still cheaper than a rc4wd box. But shipping was very very slow. 2+ weeks for it to come from NY to PA.
