Looks old but plays in tune! The problem with vintage Tele® saddles is that they weren't designed for accurate intonation. Gotoh's compensated saddles have solved this problem without changing the look of this classic bridge.

Built-in compensation — Gotoh's In-Tune saddles have unique grooves molded into them which move each string's point of contact for more exact intonation than traditional barrel saddles.

This bridge is designed for string mounting through the body. Adjust the saddle height with a 1.5mm Allen wrench (not included).

Specs:

  • String spread: 2-1/8" (53.97mm)
  • Baseplate dimensions: 3-5/16" x 3" (84.14mm x 76.20mm)
  • Stamped-steel baseplate and brass saddles with relic-chrome finish.
  • Mounting screws (4) included.

Installation note: Replacing a modern Fender American Standard Tele bridge with a Traditional Bridge for Tele will require additional drilling.

Didn’t fit my guitar, but that’s my fault for not checking before ordering. I wish it did fit because it is very well made and looks appropriately aged/reliced. Nice looking bridge!

Gotoh never, and I mean NEVER disappoints. Their In-Tune products are my absolute favorite, especially their barrel saddles. I honestly do not know if this matters or not, but I'm drawn to Gotoh's compensated saddle contouring, unlike Wilkinson's more angular approach. I *feel* like Gotoh's rounded approach helps prevent string breakage. I have these installed on all my barrel saddled Telecasters and have never once had an issue with quality, string breakage, and especially intonation after setting it against a Peterson Strobe 490. These are rock solid, and the way to go. There are even cheap knockoffs out there from companies like Musiclily, which I've tried and since removed due to buzzing issues. Nothing compares to Gotoh's In-Tune saddles. Oh, and these Gotoh's age beautifully as well should you purchase a set that has a factory fresh look (aka: non-aged).

It works. It’s better than a stock bridge if you value intonation. But the bridge had some lift on my copy, which means nasty feedback. I had to smack it with a mallet on the soft side to eliminate the notorious vibration feedback Tele’s can get with the ashtray bridge. Also, as mentioned the intonation screws are crap quality and will almost for certain strip on the low E + A side. No matter how careful you are, it will strip. Other than that, it’s an okay bridge. Cheers.
