Great kit that arrives with everything you need to add handles to your kayak. We added four handles to our Lifetime Kayak and the color matches. The handles are very well constructed and attach with either four screws or four rivets. The extra attachment points secure the handles to the kayak extremely well.Great product.

I haven't had a chance to install any of these parts yet, as I ordered the set to use should my current handles and eyes fail. However, looking them over, they appear to be very well made of sturdy construction.

Four handles is more than most people will need on one boat, but it's nice to have extra. I'm glad it came with the star rivets (yes, you need a rivet gun). But there is little use for screws on most kayaks as there is no solid place deep enough to attach them securely. You need rivets or ideally for something load-bearing like handles you need well nuts. If you have access to the inside, you can back up the rivets with fender washers to provide a wider load bearing surface. I can use the extra stainless steel screws and the extra handles for another application. The fact that there are two attachment points at each end is great. The pad eyes have a high arch so you can use larger-diameter bungee cords underneath, which is good for sea kayaks that need heavy duty attachment places for paddle floats and should also be useful for outfitting fish kayaks.

Handles are sturdy and have plenty of grip. The package comes with lots of extra hardware including rivets (you need a rivet gun). The pad eyes are sized appropriately for routing rope or lines as needed. No complaints.

The handles in this kit feel both ergonomic and also very sturdy. They include mounting tabs with two screws on each side, unlike others that only have one mounting screw on each side. The kit also includes a number of eyelets to install for securing bungees or similar. I am not quite sure how the installation of the rivets works, yet, but I am sure that I can figure that out and plan to use this on my fishing kayak to rig up attachment points for rods, etc.

These kayak handles were desperately needed for the rear of my Perception Outlaw 11.5 kayak. The rear of this kayak was very difficult to carry. These handles added a sturdy location on each side so the back of this fairly heavy kayak can be lifted, pulled, or carried much easier.IMPORTANT NOTE: You will need a heavy-duty rivet tool to install the handles. The screws are for the eyelets; the rivets are for the handles. You will need to accurately drill tight-fitting holes (I think they were 3/16") with two on each side of a handle. Insert the rivets through the holes in the handles from the top, then install a rubber o-ring on each rivet before pushing the rivets in the holes. Use the rivet tool to pop the rivets. This is the sturdiest way to mount the handles and the o-rings will keep water from leaking in through the sides. Put a dab of clear silicone adhesive in the rivet holes for better leak protection. The eyelets are good as well. I have not installed them on this kayak yet, but I will find uses for them. They make a good place to attach a fish stringer, etc. The eyelets install with simple screws (provided) and the quality seems to be good (strong plastic).

I used this set to repair an off-brand kayak and it worked great. First I was able to use the little eyes to fix an elastic cargo cord on my kayak. After that I replaced the handles and even added an additional handle on the side for solo carrying. All parts have worked so far, and I would recommend this to anyone with a kayak that needs a little TLC and repairs.

With kayaks sitting out in the elements all year long, eyelets have been known to break off within 5-10 years. I've not had the same issue with handles, but it's sometimes nice to add additional handholds. This kit gives you all the necessary rivets and/or screws needed to get the job done.Highly recommend going with the rivets for anything under load (especially the hand straps). You can get a cheap riveter at harbor freight for under $15 with extra rivets. Easy to do the whole job with just a drill bit and screwdriver.
