All metal construction. Comes with gaskets, wrench, instructions, all neatly packaged in a sturdy cardboard box, so no scratches on it. Fits standard shower wand connections, great replacement for Kohler products.

While not inexpensive, it's a quality built piece. Exactly what I was hoping for. Works well and is as sturdy as the spout you put it on.

this was an easy replacement for the lame plastic original that can last a long time if you do not need to move it around a lot ; mine was a quality purchase at a local hardware store ($50+) and as many pointed out, the weakest point in that entire kit ; after being careful to not pull or remove the handle too much it was inevitable that giving the dog a bath was the final straw ; we had already purchased the showerhead a second time (well, twice for two different rooms) for the exact same breaking issue as before so it made no sense to do so again considering the waste since only the connector was broken ; attempting to fix the plastic with tape or a clamp also proved uselessthe color match to the standard store bought oil-rubbed bronze is fairly close ; it also looks better with a metal sheen versus the plain plastic look of the rest ; replacing it was as easy as any other shower bracket would have been and all parts fit fine ; there was no issue for range of motion but we keep it in the center position just to avoid pushing the limits of the gasketanyone buying a shower head upgrade for their home should consider adding this before their arm section breaks, because it is just a matter of time

We just sold our home and decided to rent for a bit. The house we've got has a fixed shower head, which is unusual in the UK. Ordered this so we could have a hose shower again and it's perfect. Feels sturdy, well made. There's a good amount of tension in the swivel head so it's not going to be flapping down etc. Very happy.

It is stronger than your run of the mill plastic built-in obsolescence that comes with every shower head. How much metal is it really? My strongest magnet didn't find it that attractive. Nevertheless, it is strong, sturdy. Was not difficult to install at all. No leaks.Holds and fits Moen Magnetix showerhead. If you bought one of those, you will eventually need this.

Installed this today, works as expected. I've noticed the ball joint was pretty tight. Before installing, I took it apart with a rubber strap wrench (the collar was fairly tight, but not impossibly tight). Inside, I've found two nylon washers, which means it is safe to use lubricants. I've smeared some SuperLube on the ball and put it back together, adjusting the collar to a point where the ball could move easy enough to my liking. My ancient Waterpik hose / handle did not quite fit, but I knew it going in. I've shaved some plastic from the hose end, so now it fits about half way in. Probably a time to throw it away, but I will tackle it sometimes later.I have not used the included wrench for the installation but rather used the rubber strap wrench. This avoids marring the finish. I've noticed the back end of the holder uses a rubber washer, but the kit also includes a roll of teflon tape. I don't understand why you would need both, but put the tape on anyway.Because of the rubber washer, the bracket is not super tight and wants to turn when you are turning the shower head around the ball. This is remedied by screwing the bracket in a bit tighter, but you need to be careful as not to make it so tight as to crash the rubber washer.Overall, the bracket meets my expectations.

The photo compares this solid, well-made metal shower head holder to the one it is replacing: my second plastic Gl*cier B*y "Shower Arm Mount" from H*me D*pot which, like the first one, eventually started leaking badly because the ring that tightens around the ball began to split. (The crack is visible in the photo). In the new metal fixture, the ball mount is purely a mechanical arrangement for holding the shower head; the water does not pass through it. This is a simpler and sturdier design. The metal fixture puts the connection of the shower hose a little closer to the wall, so if the shower hose is stiff, it may touch the wall rather than hanging completely free. But the position and angle of the business end of the shower head itself end up being almost the same as they were with the old plastic fixture. The metal one might hold the shower head half an inch or so farther from the wall -- really not a perceptible difference. Some reviewers complain that the ball becomes loose and droops, but in my case it is quite stiff while remaining adjustable, and it does not get looser even after a long, hot shower. I am very satisfied with this fixture and expect it to last indefinitely -- or at least many times longer than the plastic ones, which seem to have a lifetime of about two to three years. (Incidentally, in one of the photos, it looks like the chromed surface is damaged near the wall end, but it is not; that is just a reflection. The part arrived in pristine condition and was easy to mount using the included wrench without leaving any marks on it.)
