These work as intended but they are small and you cannot over load them because the contents won’t tumble inside.. guess you could do multiple batches if you had a large family…

This has solved and saved a good amount of veggies from falling through the cracks and into the grill bottom. I love how you can turn the food all at once which help give an even cook. I just had trouble using the included detachable handle. After some hit or miss tries I just decided to use a pair of tongs to turn the basket. I use it to grill veggies but I guess you could use it for meats. I will always have one of these in the grilling rotation moving forward.

I have used round grill baskets before--the kind with the end caps that tend to fall off every time you turn them--and didn't really like them. After about the third time of putting the end cap back on I was done with them.But this one is so much better in design and function, especially when using the handle. On this one the basket is split in half and opens up lengthwise, making loading, cooking, and cleaning all easier. There is a small wire hook that holds the basket closed if you are not using the handle (for example, if you have it in a smoker where the lid is closed). But when you are using the handle, this thing is really great. The handle holds it closed. The handle itself is made of steel and wood and looks great and is comfortable to hold. This would work great when grilling as you could let the handle hang off the front so it is not over any flame or heat.I'm happy with this and look forward to adding it to my grill/smoker/outdoor kitchen tools.

**updated! After the initial review, they offered to send an updated version. Sure, why not. I received the updated basket. They changed the design a little so now the handle slides in easy with the grill basket closed and you can slip on and off the close ring around the handle down over the loops from the basket to easily keep it shut while flipping and rolling the basket and it keeps the handle secure on to the basket. The design improvement is WAY better. They listen and improved the design. Can't recommend it enough. Now 5 stars!!---PreviousI'd like to give this 3.5 stars.Here's the short version. It's heavy duty. It's not made with cheap mesh that will crumple or collapse. Which is fantastic compared to so many others out there. Also the side ope ING clamshell style makes its easy to open and close. The detachable handle idea is awesome. It's wood and well built too!The cons. The detachable handle connection point doesn't line up perfectly and doing it while the basket is hot. Good luck. Doing it cold is frustrating. The little pin to hold it shut without the handle is equally frustrating and easy to almost loose.Short version. It works. It prevent the food from burning. Which is GREAT. Connecting the handle and using the pin without the handle, not so much. If it was easier to connect and the pin was designed better I'd give it 5 stars.
