Had to do away from my electric starter (kept shutting off). This is the spark my life needed. Perfectly balanced and is long enough so you dont burn your arm arm hairs. ..lol

I love this torch ! We are using it to start fireplace logs. The torch is long enough to reach under the logs. Flame is so hot logs start up in less than 3 minutes ! Safe to use, the wand is long, reaches the wood from a safe distance and has a spark igniter! Fits easily over camp style propane canisters. Great value! Very pleased.

I am a backyard BBQ smoker and have been using a charcoal chimney starter for years. I have seen many other BBQ smokers use a torch to light their wood and coals but never thought about trying one until now. I wish I have done this sooner!! This little torch gets the job done!!! The torch body feels solid in my hands and the weight, even with the small propane tank attached to it, is not very heavy at all. The torch has a manual ignition push button switch that usually lights the first time! The fuel control knob easily controls the intensity of the flame for whatever job you need. While the craftsmanship feels very solid and well put together, it is not without its flaws. The unit has vent holes drilled into the side of the pipe, but for some reason smoothing the metals burs were overlooked. I have attached pictures of the metal burs and will have them filed off to prevent possible cuts. Other than this small problem, the item does its job as advertised. I feel confidant in recommending this torch to anyone considering a purchase.

Needed something to start our chiminea going in the evenings now that summer has departed. I was using a plumbing torch to start it but found the Grill Torch Charcoal Starter. It runs off the propane cannisters (portable ones). There was no assembly other than attaching a propane canister, had this up and running in 3 minutes. It works great, hold it at your pile of wood or charcoal for about 30 seconds and you should be good to go. The torch has it's own starting feature, button you press after releasing the propane knob. Started right up.My concerns: Propane cannisters are not refillable in our state and how long will the starter work?If you use charcoal grills or wood fire places, this works nicely.

I usually use a chimney charcoal starter & Tumbleweeds, but I was just cooking a couple of hot dogs, so I thought I would give this a try. used my vortex accessory inverted and it got the charcoal lit in about 5 minutes (had to wait another 10 minutes for all the coals to be lit as expected). I like this torch and plan to use it again anytime I don't use the chimney, it's clean, efficient and convenient to use. Lighting a firepit or campfire fireplace would be very convenient as well.Back when I lived in the frozen tundra of New England, I had a coal stove/heater in my basement that heated the entire house in the coldest weather and this would have been a blessing to get the coal lit. Actual Anthracite Coal is a bear to get lit, takes a lot of time and effort so once I started it, I kept it running 24/7 for weeks at a time, only shut it down to shovel out the ash to clean it out and then go through the hassle of reloading coal and lighting it up again.

This torch uses small propane cylinders which are readily available at camping and hardware stores. The main purpose I got it for was light charcoal in my grill. It works great for that and keeps your hands safely away from the direct heat source. The automatic ignition means I dont need an external spark source. You could use this for wood burning projects, starting campfires, burning weeds and other general tasks that require a very hot flame.
