In an effort to make grilling safer, I have completely stopped using traditional bristle grill brushes, not wanting a metal wire bristle to end up in the food. I had previously occasionally found a loose bristle on the grill grates from such brushes. This brush is remarkable in a couple ways. First, it is safer because it has no potential to leave behind those sharp pointy metal bristles. And, unlike other alternatives that I have tried, this actually cleans better than the traditional bristle brush, by a long shot. This really cleans remarkably well. There are a number of similar steam-based grill cleaners on the market, and I have tried a few, and I will point out that they all seem to work fairly similarly, so I am not saying that this one is any different than the others I have tried regarding how well it cleaned the grill, but this type of brush really does work remarkably well. It is also noteworthy that this product comes with a second brush head, and also that the instructions pointed out how each brush head can be flipped over to use the opposite side, which should add to its longevity, although I also will also point out that I have not yet used the first side long enough to try flipping it over, and I do wonder how well the Velcro will attach to the other side after the first side is used up, wondering if it will still attach as well to the brush handle Velcro surface. The handle itself is well designed, as it is easy to hold and feels quite solid, is nicely weighted, and has a nice angle to it. It remains to be seen how well the Velcro attachment will hold up, but so far it looks good. I do see pros and cons regarding that Velcro attachment. On the negative side is the potential for the brush head to not stay in place as well as it might if it were screwed in place, but this Velcro attachment method does make it much easier to remove and replace the brush head, particularly when compared with another similar brush that I have that will require a screwdriver to swap the brush heads. I've been putting this new grill brush through it's paces for a couple months or more to see how it holds up. I had somewhat low expectations for it's durability as it seems to be a 'sponge' of a sort. But whether it is from soaking in water before use, or the materials it is constructed of, it has held up exceptionally well to repeat scrubbing of my intricate cast iron grill grate at 400*+. The firm yet soft sponge pad adheres solidly to the handle. It does not try to peel away while scrubbing; yet it can be easily removed for pre soaking or cleaning. The slight give of the scrubbing pad allows it to conform to the surface and really makes it possible for me to clean all those nooks and crannies of my cast iron grate. After numerous scrub cycles, I took the one pad I've been using and threw it in the dishwasher for cleaning and to see if that would degrade it.. It did NOT! The picture of the pad on the paper towel is post dishwasher; and it looks nearly as good as the new one (two pads come in the kit) which hasn't seen any use yet. I'm quite happy with this product.

I like this grill cleaner it works better than I thought. The water soaked scrub pad works well on a hot grill, takings off most of the grease and hard deposits. The only thing is I wish the pad would stick to the handle better.
