Product Description

GRK's FIN/TRIM head screws are an excellent choice for most trim carpentry applications. They have the smallest screw head available with lengths from 1-1/4-inch to 5-inch. Most material splitting is prevented by the Trim head screw's small head and W-cut thread design. Pre-drilling is usually only necessary in extreme hardwoods like Mahogany or Ipe'. Some sizes are availabele in PHEINOX stainless steel.

I have purchased thousands of these GRK screws. In white, gold & stainless. I have found they do a very good job of attaching board to board. The only negative comment that I have is as you countersink the screw it leaves a little piece of material about the size of a tiny fingernail clipping still attached to the material. I don't know if this could be correct by redesigning the head or redesigning the screwbit. If this little piece is wood it comes off quickly with a sanding sponge however, if it is pvc (Azek) the material usually needs a knife to get rid of it. When removing this shred of wood/pvc by pulling on it, you have to be careful not to pull off material. The small head means a small hole to fill and if you use the right fill, you can usually sand & prime within 15 minutes. The finished product looks so much better than seeing the head of a nail or screw exposed on the finished product.
