This hula hoe is working well for me. It seems to be great quality, and it isn't real heavy like some can be. I haven't had any issues with using it and I know I'm going to get a lot of use out of it.

I’ve been using the Haliaeetus Hula Hoe in our small herb garden to keep it weed-free and mix shredded table scraps into the soil. The 58” stainless steel handle provides a comfortable working height, which I appreciate since I’m 6'6". The wooden handle is smooth and comfortable, allowing me to use it for long periods without discomfort. The stirrup blade works well with a push-pull motion, cutting through weeds efficiently. It’s easy to use between plants without disturbing the herbs' roots. I also use it to incorporate vegetable scraps into the soil, and the design makes mixing easy without turning the soil over completely. The stainless steel blade has held up well and hasn’t rusted with regular use in damp conditions. However, the blade was dull out of the box and required sharpening before it performed as expected. The connection between the handle and the blade feels a bit loose after repeated use, though it hasn’t caused any issues so far. It’s a practical and reliable tool for weeding and soil mixing, though sharpening and keeping an eye on the handle connection are necessary considerations.

I've never used this style hoe before. I had no idea there could be so much difference, that a hoe of this shape could make the work so MUCH easier. My husband used it first and came and told me how much he liked it. He described it as 'elegant'. He said the handle had a great feel and that it was easier to use than he thought could be possible. So naturally, I had to try it. This is one of those occasions when I have to say, he's right! When you chop down with the hoe it is not like hitting a brick wall because the soil goes through the hole and out the other side. The wooden handle has been well sanded, sealed and finished. NO splinters. The metal is heavy in the curved blade and sharp on the cutting edge. Where the head attaches to the wood there are rivets, not screws. This is not going to come undone.Extremely pleased. Yes, you should buy it.

Setting the proper expectation for what the product will do will be key to whether or not you like it and think it's worth the considerable amount they are asking for it.There are no "miracle" products that make landscaping easy. There are a lot of products that make it less difficult however. A proper edging tool that has only one job, edging, is 100 times better at it than trying to do it with even the sharpest and best shovel or spade. For cutting sod, there are sod cutters that are built for it, and are better at it than anything else, but they are wildly expensive things and it still isn't EASY.What this thing is good at so far is:-not immediately falling apart like the cheap ones do. It is a solid unit, the handle is one piece of hardwood, not 5 pieces of aluminum screwed together.-cleaning up the "little" stuff. A bit of back and forth along the edge of a bed, and I can take care of the grass that's encroaching easier than I could by busting out edgers and shovels and rakes and whatnot. I can also, in a non mulched bed, go after the weeds between the pretty stuff, given enough room between the pretty stuff. It is not magic. It still requires effort. It will cut through clay a nibble at a time, but it's not going to pull strips of sod out in a line like is shown in most of the marketing pictures for these things, unless that sod is growing in loose black dirt. Nor will it magically peel a two inch thick strip of rock-hard dried clay out in a strip, any more than it would pull up a strip of your concrete sidewalk.Worth it or not is up to you, but at the very least it is competent at what it does. For me, five star product, three star price.
