Your cart is empty.Handcrafted in small batches from black walnuts locally in Western North Carolina. Perfect for drawing, sketching, painting, dyeing, staining or calligraphy. This ink is made from organic black walnut shells that are naturally acidic. It's not waterproof, is water-based, can be re-wetted, and acts much like watercolor in use. Note: Not suitable for use in reservoir fountain pens. This is a natural ink that contains natural sediments that might clog the reservoir of a fountain pen. It's used with reed pens, dip pens, or a brush.

Was brushing the ink over a watercolor ground. When it dried I touched it and powder came off on my finger. The walnut ink brushed off the paper unless it had mixed with watercolor. I tried to contact the manufacturer to discuss but did not find a way to co tact them.I hope they read the comments.Thank you

It flows well for both fountain and dip pens, definitely the smoothest writing ink I've had the pleasure of using!! When I opened up the container, the smell of clove took me by surprise. It was the perfect scent, and sticks around on paper making my writing an immersive experience for me and the reader. The color dries as a light bronze-brown. For the quality of the ink and packaging this was definitely a steal!!

I just received mine today and practiced a page with the new walnut ink, AND with a new nib (Gillott 404). I like how the ink looks antique-ish and I like the clove scent, too! Lastly, I appreciate the large opening which makes it easy to dip in an oblique pen.

i loved the color of this ink, but this ink isn’t waterproof. if you accidentally spill some water on it then it will all wash away.
