Purchased to scare coyotes away. Haven’t had to use for that purpose yet but we tried it out and it was loud enough. Can’t comment on durability yet but seems well-built.

This product is ready when you are, and works as long as you make it work.

Ok this air horn is unreal loud. It is basically on of those airports you see with a can of air attached to it, but I stead of air you have a pump that honks the horn everytime it is pushed in. The operation of the horn is simple, twist the plunger and it will pop out after like 180° turn or less and then you just push the plunger and the horn sounds. When you are done and wish to store the horn you keep the plunger pushed in and give it a twist and it locks in place. Really dont k ow what to use this for unless you are going to scare the crap outta people. Im sure it has its uses

I have always liked the air horns used on boats, at sporting events and parties, but knew that the can was just compressed air that would not last very long. This Handheld Air Horn is the solution to that problem! It's a pretty cool concept - just manually pump the air to make it work! The tone produced is right on thought it doesn't necessarily have the trailing off sound that I like to get, but nonetheless it is impressive. The volume is loud and the harder you pump the louder it gets. The unit is all plastic, so be prepared for that and don't toss it around too much in case you end cracking something. The bell of the horn is pretty sturdy feeling though so I wouldn't stress too much. The labeling is pretty festive to suit the mood of the event but still looks like it has an inexpensive vibe to it. The horn is nice since you can unscrew the pump from the horn part while in storage. The downside is that the plunger stays in the locked position by inserting all the way into the pump and then rotating slightly to engage the 'lock'. The issue is, there is not tension for this 'lock' and it can be easily rotated off the lock position which forces the pump plunger to extend all the way out. To close it again, you have to engage the horn and it gets loud. The key is to slowly push in the plunger, but you don't know that the first couple of times. You learn quickly though. Overall a good buy for an air horn that never needs CO2 or batteries.

I really like that this air horn is reusable and doesn't rely on an expendable canister of compressed air. I also like the fact that the loudness is comparable with the disposable compressed air horns. What I don't like is the construction and build quality. This feels more like a cheap plastic party favor than a boating safety device (which is what I ordered it for). The first time I tried to use it, the pump handle fell of in my hand. Fortunately, it wasn't broken, it is only held on by friction. If this product is intended to be used for boating safety or self-defense as it says in the description, it needs to have a much sturdier build quality. A one-piece construction would also be an improvement.

I put this in the boat to serve as a horn to meet regulations. Got tired of replacing electric horns that only lasted one or two seasons.
