This may as well have come from a dollar store. It does not make any sound other than pushing air through. Terrible product, did not work at all. I tried it, and I had a few friends try it. Does not work. Not worth the price.

I got this air horn to scare off animals and as a safety horn to keep in the car. I like the benefits over disposable can versions: ability to make it loud/quiet as needed, never runs out, no danger of rupture/leaking. It's a little bulky when assembled, but compacts into 9" bag. Pump metal rod rubs on plastic but doesn't affect operation. Pump is strong and seems durable. Testing sound level in bathroom, with meter 2 feet away, I got 120 dBA maximum. This can get very loud.

I got the plastic version. The plan is to take it camping with us to scare off any scavenging wildlife, especially at night. It's quite large when assemble, but you can break it down into a relatively neat package between the horn itself and the air pump. It can get quite loud. I was able to get 120dBA at about a foot away. This test was done outside. While it's loud everywhere, it does matter where you point it. For better effect, you need to point it in the right direction. I also like the fact that you can vary the noise level just by how hard you push the air through. If you push very gently, it'll make no noise at all. Another thing I like about it is that it's very light, being all plastic. One last thing I want to add is that to release the pusher, you need to turn it inside the cylinder. Turn it again when compressed for a stowed position.
