These brackets do not have enough angle adjustment to mount vertically on the stairwell wall (for a standard rise home stairway). The included mounting screws and anchors are far too small and light duty for secure mounting to wall, even to studs.

I wanted adjustable brackets with a square base, so these fit that very well. However, the finish on these could be improved. With my order, two of eight brackets had paint flaking off of the face edge which will require touch up. For me, given similar items cost $40USD each, I accepted these cosmetic flaws as I can easily blast and refinish them. Given price point, they will work for my needs.

We ordered a large quantity of these brackets. They feel sturdy and high quality, but the majority of them were visibly scratched, and some even touched up with some sort of sharpie which was a different finish/sheen. It would appear the seller knowingly sent these because they had to touch them up before sending. Half of them were good with no scratches, but as you can see in the picture, some of these were pretty bad. I like the good ones, but do you really want to deal with sending half back and ordering again, then sending the scratched ones back again?

I was surprised when I go the handrail brackets, the box was heavy! Theses are so sturdy! We had the old skinny flimsy silver metal ones and these are such an upgrade, they look sooo modern and contemporary they completely change the look on the stairs. They have survived two teenagers hanging from the rail very durable! I definitely recommend these if you want something sturdy adj have an elevated look.

This works great for my stairway. I have kids and grandkids who walk up the stairs and runs hand along the wall for some weird reason I decided to get these and see if they would work to stop them from using the wall and luckily, they did. I didn’t expect to use them also. I have a regular staircase railing on the right side of the stairs but I actually noticed I walk down the side closest to the wall so I found myself using these a lot. They look nice and are very safe.

The previous stair railing bracket was broken, so I ordered these. They are sturdy and durable, still look good, and the matt black surface is also beautiful. They are easy to install, and the screws provided are also strong screws instead of cheap weak screws sometimes included in the hardware.
