We needed a handrail for my elderly parents on a step at our back door. Out of the box the steel feels adequately strong for supporting a person much heavier than either of my parents and will provide the needed safety. It looks good with the black paint. It was advertised to fit on three steps but is adjustable for two steps or level installations. Assembly wasn’t difficult, however the only instructions was a picture, photo provided. Two flat washers were missing from the provided hardware. Tools needed are a drill/driver, Phillips drive bit and a square drive bit, concrete drill bits if the installation is on concrete and if the installation is on wood steps, screws are not provided. Concrete anchors are provided. One of the most important things to know is securing the parts together involves using the provided self drilling/tapping screws to drill through the steel. No holes are located on these parts. It will be easier to pre drill holes in the hardware before assembly easing the drilling through the square tubing. It would be nice if the screws were painted black but that can be done before or after if you like.

Like the product but there are absolutely no instructions. It would be helpful to know diameter of wholes needed to drill and how expanded screws should be inserted along with where you place the washer that attaches the top rail connector. A simple diagram or expanded photo would have been a great help.

I've an uncle whose wife is getting on in years, and the steps to the porch of their trailer have been a bit much lately. This has been a big help for her. Design is nice, and color is black so it goes well with most anything.Functionally, is is sturdy and feels like it will last for many years. The adjustable length and angle make it useful for a lot of smaller porches/stoops. It wouldn't work well for a porch more than 4 or so feet I'd imagine, but a couple of then placed one after another could work. Or just look for a different alternative.The main thing I'd like would be for the hand railing to be more textured for extra grip, but that's a small complaint considering the price.

Ordered these Modern Adjustable Handrails for Stairs and Outdoor Balcony - 40" Hand Rail for our newly poured large back porch. I recently constructed and poured a 10' x 26' concrete back porch/patio on back side of our home as we enjoy grilling out and relaxing, visiting with family and friends on it. The porch has (3) steps. We have a couple of family members that visit us often and both have bad hips and one, a bad knee. Our new porch is all finished, but now realized we needed a hand rail for the steps to make them safer for us and visitors. Recently while shopping online for some outdoor furniture and umbrella for out new porch, I saw these nice hand rails that is designed for 2-3 step applications. After reading about it and that it's made of strong steel zinc coated material, and that they are designed with hinges for various pitches levels and will adapt to many applications of steps, I ordered it. I like the the nice modern design and the black zinc coated finish. Also like that they are made of steel, "not plastic or PVC" like some I've saw in the past. They came complete with predrilled base plate holes. They also came with drill bit, screws, and even a wrench to install right out of the box. The 40" long hand rail is a good fit for our (3) steps. I used anchor bolts to anchor them in the concrete steps. They are very sturdy and strong. It took me and my son approx (1 1/2) hours to complete the installation and we actually took our time as I wanted these to be strong and permanent.These made our back porch complete and we actually use them ourselves to hold on to when going up or down the steps. It's nice to have these strong rails to hold onto for security. Now, we don't have to be a bit embarrassed when our couple family members visit us as these will give them security and a nice sturdy rail to hold onto when visiting. These work great for our needs and the price was affordable. Happy with order

This is a heavy duty hand rail, the metal feels firm and quite sturdy. Then metal work is good, smooth, with no noticeable blemishes. It looks very nice, and will work well for any 2-3 steps. I like it because it actually mounts to the steps, instead of on the wall like so many handrails do. It works well with any set of steps, no matter how large or small the landing is. I am glad I ordered them for my garage steps. For the price, this handrail with the two posts is a great value. I did decide to use upgraded hardware for the installation.

This is exactly what I’d been looking for! I had an open portion of a stairwell in a rustic cabin, and I couldn’t figure out how to install a railing, because the angles were difficult. When I saw this, I thought it might work to close a dangerous gap. Work it did, and far better than expected. This is a great product, sturdy, convenient, and a breeze to install.
