What a Stunner!Hang On St. Christopher is Book #8 in Adrian McKinty’s Sean Duffy series.Adrian McKinty is a Northern Irish writer of crime and mystery novels. He is well-known for his Sean Duffy novels set in Northern Ireland during the Troubles.Hands Down - I think that the Sean Duffy series is one of the best contemporary detective series out there and it is highly recommended. *****The writing is excellent - tense, compact, suspenseful, gritty, grim and peppered with murder, fistfights, guns, violence, deception and intrigue. There is also an abundance of poetry, music, history and wit. The writing is very atmospheric and location is one of the main characters.“Hang On St. Christopher is described as “Rain-slicked streets, riots, murder, chaos. It’s July 1992 and the Troubles in Northern Ireland are still grinding on after 25 apocalypticyears.”

I have read every book by this author and now I don't know what to do. I've also lived in parts of Derry and Belfast and county Donegal .... Back in the later years of the Troubles. His descriptions and characters are always spot on.I loved every page and he's a funny guy.

Another brilliant Sean Duffy story. Great writing, humor and wit. Had me laughing from start to finish. Duffy and the Crabman are quite a pair but the book is full of great characters. It will be interesting to see where Duffy goes from here. He obviously cannot just retire from detective work at 40. I am sure McKinty will not let him just fade away. I liked his references to Forsyth in this book and maybe a book involving those two would be a delicious possibility.

Like the books that preceded this one, it is a gripping and solidly written novel. Sean Duffy is again being a crime fightin' guy in Ulster. I enjoy the insights into life during the troubles. For a first rate non-fiction on Ulster and the troubles, I highly recommend "Say Nothing."

Great job, Mr. McKinty. Great story, and Duffy is one of my favorite characters in modern literature. Hopefully the next one won’t be so long coming.

I really enjoy the author’s Sean Duffy character. However, it took you about page 200 to get in the groove with this older Sean Duffy.
