My chickens love this, just for big chunks of food.

If you’ve never given your birds a treat toy, try the Voikm Hanging Chicken Feeder. This sphere is just the right size for a head of lettuce or a medium size cabbage. The ribs divide the sphere into 20 spaces with 1” between at the mid-point. There is plenty of room for easy pecking and treat retrieval. This spacing is close enough to also allow a much looser filling, such as the carrot peelings, outer leaves, and limp spinach often left from meal prep. There are food stuffs that your birds should never have, so be sure to check a comprehensive list of no-noes. Among those would be onions, garlic, potato peelings even avocado. The birds have so much fun with a hanging treat ball. Loose stuff disappears fast and a more solid treat such as a cabbage will last longer. The birds will walk away only to return and be amused later, as if the ball just appeared. The structure of this play feeder is made of clothes hanger weight wire. Ribs run vertically with no horizontal divides until the ‘equator’. If the prongs to hang the bottom to the hanging to do not seem adequate you may want to bend one side as a hinge or even zip tie that side. I plan to bend a simple latch with a piece clipped from an old lightweight hanger. This sphere is also the perfect size as a base for a sweet planter. It would make a lovely moss ball planted with ivy, Corsican mint, portulaca or sedums.I heartily recommend the foraging ball offered by Voikm.

The method they decided to use to keep together the two halves is ridiculous. For the type they chose, you need more than two of them. But that would just make it harder to line up and get together.Twenty bucks for a small chain and a wire cage is ridiculous.

Great idea! Keeps food off the ground. Only thing is sometimes it can be tricky to latch if you don’t get things lined up correctly. Overall love it!

Good value, works as intended. Added extra line to hang from my run.
