I have a 2001 jeep xj that was having overheating issues. I wanted to completely overhaul the cooling system, in doing so I purchased this fan clutch. It is for a jeep ZJ however it will bolt right up to a jeep xj and is perfect for improved cooling over the stock fan clutch. The reason being that the clutch allows the mechanical fan to spin at a closer rpm to your engine than the factory fan clutch. In simpler terms it allows you fan to spin faster. However, there are a few drawbacks to running this setup. First there is a lot more fan noise when accelerating and driving in general. It doesn’t bug me at all but if you don’t like extra noise it is something to consider. Next, you will have some trouble getting the fan shroud to clear the new fan clutch. I had to really wedge the shroud in hard to get it to pass the clutch, this was definitely a pain in the butt.Other than that I’ve been running the fan clutch for about 7 months now and it’s been doing great. Highly recommend this product.

Replaced the fan clutch on a 1995 jeep cherokee and it fits with just enough space between the clutch and the alternator. The fan shroud is a little difficult to put back on, you lose some horsepower and mpg. but marginally less horsepower and mpg are better than overheating.

I think this MF is defective its stays engaged all the time... it was a perfect fit for my 90 cherokee, and I can see how much of a difference its making in pulling in air so as long as it's cooling I guess I'll keep it.

Installed this on my '93 YJ 4.0 over a year ago when my idle temperature was getting higher than it should. This fan clutch has worked perfectly so far.

Used this on my 4.0L '95 Jeep XJ. Little louder than the stock one but I have a louder muffler so I hardly hear it. I can't tell if it actually cools better since outside temps are just starting to climb. I'm hoping it helps with low speed air movement. I was working on some other items and noticed my original clutch was weeping a little so I decided to try this since it was relatively cheap and knew my other would need replaced in the near future.I can't speak to power or fuel mileage loss at this point, but if it is, it's very minimal.

This is a American made fan clutch and works to oem spc so far, The summer is not here yet, but had a few days in the 80s and A/C cools great because this fan clutch blows when its suppost to. Bought 3 fan clutches from auto zone and they fail in a month or 2 and are not quality made, just cheap copys That are sub standard in performance. Do your self a favor and buy American made part, and you will not have to keep replaceing it all the time. I learned the hard way and you will to.
