The original key switch on my John Deere had a “dead” spot from the beginning.I would have to wiggle the key to make it work occasionally.After the problem started to get worse I ordered this switch from Amazon.It worked fine for a few trips around the yard, then the mower started blowing fuses.I thought the starter solenoid was bad so I changed it.Still the mower would either not turn over at all, or it would blow the fuse.I was ready to change the starter motor, but I decided to put the old switch back in and try it.The starting issues, and fuse blowing went away.Got a new switch from the John Deere dealer and now it’s like a new mower.Lesson learned.I’ll stick with factory parts from now on.

I had to replace the old switch because water got into itThis switch came with a key that has a skirt built onto it that will keep rain out of it.
