I read some Amazon reviews before I ordered and encountered the same concern expressed by another reviewer: I inserted the hooded key and the switch turned correctly but I could not remove the key! This is okay for me because my John Deere LT190 is housed indoors and the key is left in the ignition, but it could pose an issue for other users. Installation was easy: disconnect the positive battery terminal, depress the switch clips from the back side, pull the old switch out, remove the electrical plug then reconnect to the new switch, and pop the switch back into place. Finally, reconnect the positive battery cable and test. It worked fine for me! Mow on!HEY, READ THIS P.S. I sent a message through Amazon to HD Switch, which answered quickly, providing me the solution to remove the key: disconnect the battery, push down on the key and rotate it fully right to the start position, then lift up on the key and rotate it back to the stop position and the key should come out. Repeat, if needed. There is a snap ring inside the switch, sticking to the zinc-plated ley surface.

I got it fairly quick, which is cool, but one thing though. I put the key in to test it and the key won't come back out!!! How do I get the Key out?

Trying to remove the key is difficult even after applying a drop of oil. If that’s important to you, it’s a problem. Otherwise, it works so far. I tried the old key and it works the same.

Was having problems starting my John Deere LT133. The ignition cylinder was worn and I've bent the key dozens of times hitting it with my knee. This is a direct replacement, snaps in place, and is much more sleek. Also like how the key caps the switch to keep moisture and debris out. I got another for my other LT133 just as an upgrade.
