My DVR is in the study where we don’t have a TV. So every time I needed to check the DVR, I would use the computer monitor and I’d unhook the HDMI from the computer and run it to the DVR. Now, I just push a button on this splitter. Sweet!

Vine review. This tiny Femoro HDMI switching device (and it is fairly tiny at a little over 2 inches square and about half an inch thick) is all self-contained. There are no instructions included, but you really don't need them. The device comes inside of a small zipper bag with a window on the front. The device arrives alone with nothing else in the bag. The HDMI unit doesn't require a separate power source. It is powered by the HDMI devices connected. After connecting two input devices and one output monitor device, it began working instantly. There is a small round button on the top of the unit to manually toggle between ports 1 and 2 and back. The unit looks exactly as pictured, but it's quite a bit smaller than it looks. Once connected, switching is instantaneous. No lag or waiting for the image to "think" about showing up. Switch and you're there. Seems to work fine with HDCP content. There are a few things about this tiny device that may be concerning to some. First, the two switching ports are on one side of the device and the single port is on the other. This means you're going to have thick HDMI cables coming out of two sides of this device. Moving the unit around with thick cables attached can be a bit trying. You might want to affix this device to an easily accessible location so that it's stuck in place and not fumbling loose around as you press the button.Second, this unit offers strictly manual mode switching. You will physically need to touch the button on the unit to switch between the ports. It does NOT come with a remote and DOES NOT perform auto-switching. Again, it's strictly manual mode. For my use case, this little unit works fine as two inputs and one output. Note that this Femoro HDMI switching unit also claims to provide connecting one input and supplying two identical outputs switched between two different monitors. I've not tested this feature as I don't have a two monitor setup needed for this test. Someone who needs this specific use case will want to test and rate that feature separately.Overall, for my specific use case of two inputs and one output, this device works spectacularly well and took maybe 5 minutes to install and begin using. The most difficult part was situating the thick HDMI cables attached to the box to make for easy access to the button. The button is easy press and the switching is instantaneous. For the $7 that this unit cost, it's a great value for the money. Definitely recommend if you have need of something like this.

This FEMORO 4K HDMI Switch for 2 In - 1 Out is very well and solidly built. It is housed in a machined Aluminum shell and the HDMI ports provide solid and firm connections, and have no discernible wobble or looseness. This switch is as simple and dependable as they come, with a single switching button and LED indicators to show which HDMI input is being passed though the switcher. It is also a very nice, modern looking design. The one thing I don't understand is, even though the product description clearly states that the unit isn't capable of being used for 1 In 2 Out, it erroneously states that it can still be used "in reverse", which simply isn't true. Yes, it can be used to connect 1 HDMI input to another HDMI input, without a second HDMI input connected...but that DOESN'T make it "reverse", because with only 1 input and 1 output, it wouldn't make any difference which direction the connection is going, because the switcher is acting as a simple "pass through", not as a switcher and will only pass through the connected input. That line in the description is just confusing and double-talk. The description also indicates that the unit is "Bi-directional", which is also false, as it is Uni-directional. That being said, this HDMI Switcher is well made and does the job fine while keeping it simple and straightforward. The price point for the unit is VERY reasonable and considering the quality of the build and materials is a STEAL.I can highly recommend this FEMORO 4K HDMI Switch for 2 In - 1 Out and I happily give it a Full 5 Stars!

I play console games on my computer monitor. But unlike TVs, there are not a lot of input ports. There are only two, and one is occupied, so I have only one left for the consoles. So, when I wanted to play something else, I had to manually disconnect the HDMI cable, and move to the other console, and it was a hassle. When I found about this product, I ordered it with 2 additional HDMI cables. While this can only change between two inputs, this worked great. Now, with just a click of a button, I can change between PS4 and Switch. It made my life so easier.I really like it not having all kinds of bells and whistles, rather just a button. And it is probably a minor thing, I really like the button having a positive click feeling.By the way, for some reason, it didn't work well with my old mCable, the cable that has a processing chip inside and improve the picture quality a bit. That cable was between the minitor and this selector, and two regular HDMI cables from the selector to consoles.Whenever I change the input, the cable didn't show the image so I had to manually re-connect, which totally destroyed the reason of having this selector. So I just replaced it with a regular one. Now everything is good.Maybe, if I use this mCable between the selector to the console, it might work, but for now, I think I am OK without it.This is probably a fault of the cable, not this selector. At the end, for the price, I think this is a great HDMI selector.
