This is a convenient adapter for connecting an HDMI source to a Displayport monitor. The one quirk with it is that it uses MicroUSB for the supplemental power when we're in a USB-C world. But for the current $14 price after coupon, it's a minor quirk that's easily overcome, especially with an included cable.It is unidirectional, so you can't use it with a HDMI monitor or television. But the description is clear about that.

I used this to convert my Roku to DisplayPort and it seems to work perfectly. It feels well built. Just like the Roku itself, it gets hot, but not dangerously hot, and transmits the audio too.

It works! The only problem is that the power cable supplied is only 1 foot. It is a usb micro connection to a usb type a. Like really? So it's basically useless unless your computer has a type a connection to power it. You can plug it into an old adapter plug but unless your computer sits one foot away from the power source, it's useless.

I wanted an adapter to connect my Mac Mini M4 to a 4K LG monitor. This monitor has two HDMI inputs and one DisplayPort input that was not in use, and I have three devices I wanted to connect. I have an HDMI switch but it sometimes blacks out the screen when there's movement in my room. This does the trick, allowing me to connect the HDMI port on the back of the Mac Mini to the monitor's DisplayPort, but not without some issues. The adapter requires connecting a power source from a USB A to USB A micro cable. The cable supplied is only about a foot long and no power block is included. I don't have a USB-C to USB micro cable, so I can't just plug it into one of the Mac Mini's USB-C ports. Another issue is that the placing of the power cord prevents attaching an Ethernet cable, since the adapter's port faces downward. If the power port of the adapter was a little further away from the HDMI part, this might not have been an issue.Functionally, once I worked out where to plug in the power cord and unplugged the Ethernet cable, everything seemed to work fine. I was able to watch 4K videos on Youtube and I didn't notice any lag or conversion artifacts.If my issues don't affect your use case, order this with confidence.
