This tool is solid and works as intended. I suppose if you were constantly using metal hollow wall anchors this tool makes sense, but for the occasional user it is a bit much. Understandable that the metal anchors can sometimes fail to grip the drywall and spin in the hole, thus these setting pliers are really handy to have around, but careful tightening of the screw into the anchor and you can get by without needing this tool. Regardless, this tool firmly grabs the screw head and presses against the flange to compress the anchor against/into the drywall. It eliminates the need to tighten the screw within the anchor to achieve holding power. The only drawback of this tool is not knowing how much pressure is needed to fully compress the anchor so it doesn't sink too far into the drywall, however I'm sure that can be figured out with multiple uses. The tool has smooth action and a durable build quality. It is large enough to set some of the heavier duty anchors and not too big that it can still grip and set smaller ones. I'm sure this tool could have other uses for similar types of pulling action as well as being useful on more surfaces than drywall alone. Bottom line, it's a good and somewhat single purpose tool that is perfectly useful and built well.

Living in Earthquake country I use a lot of wall anchors. If you haven't had the pleasure.... one of the common fails in installing them is, when trying to first collapse the spiders that hold them, they start to spin, chewing up the Drywall. This makes it almost impossible to finish collapsing the spiders and create a strong anchor. This usually ends in digging the Anchor out and patching the Drywall.... No More. This Tool saves you not only the time of installation, but the time of removal and repair. I say, avoid 2 install failures and this tool has paid for itself.
