Love the overload springs, but the hardware is not up to the task. While the “U” bolts are large enough, they are grade 5 at best and are soft with far to much stretch.Getting the torque values right is nearly impossible given the fastener grade.A good set of springs but dang....please upgrade the hardware.

These made the whole of difference on my long bed f250. Just a loaded bed was hitting one shock. Now it doesn’t pulling a trailer loaded with round bales and no squat.

Be careful when purchasing this kit. I realized that the instructions from Helwig didn't apply in my situation. I went to their website and saw that my specific application (2005 Ford F-350) had a note 9 by it, but note 9 wasn't explained on their website. It turns out that note 9 means you remove the factory overload spring (and the bolt that holds the leaves in alignment - which is a REAL bear to get out and I feel serves an important part in aligning the leaves and setting the axle rotation). Also, the factory axle u-bolts needed to be cut 2.5" shorter and 2 washers of substantial thickness used to keep the u-bolt nut on the u-bolt threads and be able to torque it down. All in all, this took me 7 hours on one day and 6 the next day. I used a friend's auto body shop to cut my u-bolts and clean up the threads on them.Oh - and two of the supplied u-bolts to hold the helper springs down to the factory springs had bungered threads. I ended up taking a hacksaw to them and then I was able to thread a nut onto them.

This product is extremely easy to install on your vehicle. FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS!! I had a very bad axle wrap when accelerating hard from a stand still or slow rolling. It now just smokes the tires or accelerates hard. I have not yet loaded the vehicle to check squat but I am sure it will be good.
