It looks cool when it isn't tarnished - i have to polish it every two to three weeks and that gets old super fast !!!! - As for allergies - my blue pit still breaks out from the curogan metal and still loses some hair on his neck - not as bad as he did with the regal steel one though...

My German Shepherd came to me with an allergy to metal, so when I found this product I was elated! She no longer scratches at her neck and that is great for both of us. Highly recommend this collar for that reason alone!

Recommended by my dog trainer, very durable and the important thing is it works very well with my dog. I have a mix German Shepherd/ Boxer/Pittbull 2 year old dog he pulls slot with I walk him but with this he walks at ease. Thank you very much.

I only use this collar for training sessions which are no more than an hour. After about the 10th time I had this on my dog I noticed that her white fur around her neck was turning black!! Just like what you would see on your finger when you wear a cheap copper ring. She only had it on for an hour training session. I liked how easy this prong was to put on and take off but I wouldn't recommend this at all if your dog has light fur.

EXCELLENT product, holds up well, durable and strong! I have an aggressive dog, we used this for training and walks......she is dog aggressive, and this is the way I can have control over her, when we go out! DO NOT BUY anything other than Herm Sprenger, after market products break and you dont want to have an accident you will regret with your animal! Keep yourself and your dog safe with this product!

Fit and finish is excellent. Using this collar is the only way I can carry by high energy Doberman in public. I initially though that I would be hurting him when I used it, but in practice it provides the needed backup reminder to commands when he gets distracted. And, given a choice, my dog would rather go out for walks and be yanked on occasionally than not go out at all - he climbs in the car and sits quietly when I put the collar on him. One of the best buys for my dog.

This collar was originally part of a puppy training package ordered from a breeder. From the very beginning my German Shepherd responded well to the collar. Her entire demeanor would change the instant I put it on -- she was ready to listen and work. Unfortunately, she recently lost it in some underbrush. Not knowing what size (circumference or prongs) it had been, I originally ordered a silver 20-Inch, 3.8-mm collar after measuring her neck at about 19 to 19-/12 inches. Circumference was fine, but the prongs were huge and the collar thick and heavy. I also realized I much preferred the Curogan. Next I ordered the Curogan 2.25 mm/medium but it was way too small (circumference and prongs). Haute Dauge was extremely courteous and helpful in exchanging the medium Curogan for this 3.25 mm Curogan which is perfect and identical to her original collar. It's pricey, but worth it IMO.

I bought this collar for my German Shepherd puppy. She pulls so hard when walking her that she walks on her hind legs. I put the collar on and she had an immediate response. There was no pulling. She didnt seem bothered by the prongs. For being an overly sensitive puppy (as stated by her vet), I thought there would be a lot of whining and yipping. But not once. This is the best training tool out there! For those skeptics who think this collar is mean and cruel....trust me, it only looks that way. It is meant to "pinch" the dog like its mother would. Going for a walk is pleasurable for both of us now!
