These files are labeled and advertised as 12 inch files.A file is correctly classified as a 12 inch file if it has a working surface length of 12 inch or so (see e.g. Nicholson files).The working surfaces of these files are 8 inch long only. They should be advertised as 8 inch files.So labeling and advertising them as 12 inch files is a deceptive.

Wouldn't recommend using these on metal. The file wears down more then the metal you are filing. Also the rubber handles stink!

Couldn't find files with handles locally - go figure. These work great and are of decent quality and a good price.

Good build. Sturdy enough for my usage. I immediately spray WD-40 since day 1 to prevent rust.
