Had different rubber washers and different metal washers. Couldn’t use them. But bolts and rubber inserts worked okay. For the price there not worth it.

The holes that affix toilet seats are far from universal. If you're tempted to give up on these with a "small hole" toilet, here are some tips to try first. 1) Take the screw out of the black rubber sleeve. 2) Put a little liquid soap around the tip. 3) Using a cordless drill with the bit holder and a Phillips bit, slowly "drill" the bottom of the plug into the hole. Note: Your drill bit/holder might get stuck in the rubber sleeve at this point. Just reverse the direction of your drill and slowly wiggle/pull it out. 4) If #3 worked, you'll have the rubber sleeve halfway in the hole. Take the screw that came with the rubber sleeve and press it into the hole of the sleeve with your thumbs until it pops in the the rubber sleeve is flush with the porcelain. Then you're good to go with putting your seat back on. 5 minute job. I hope this helps someone.

These came with a single piece of paper not even the size of a sticky note for directions and that's an stretch calling them that. I'm not remotely mechanically inclined or anything that involves tools. I have my strong points and this ain't one. It is what it is. Now, that being said, this took me literally over an hour to figure out how they even went in. For those fellow poor humans whosr skills lie elsewhere, here are basic directions:I know NOTHING about toilet seats or bolts or screws. NOTHING. Zero knowledge. I eventually got it figured out that the black rubber thing goes directly into the commode itself with a bit of lube of your choosing and some twisting (and a mallet for one of mine because American Standard apparently can NOT make holes in one consistent standard size in the porcelain.)Then you put a screw in and tighten to get the ball to suck in so you can get it flush with the commode itself. Remove the screw. This is where you place the seat on.Put seat on, place screw back in but with the appropriate washer(s) for you.Tighten.And viola! All done.Y'all go on and laugh at my lack of knowledge of what is seemingly so simple, but I was dang determined to fix this myself. 1.5 hours, some lube, and a mallet later, I got it.
