I know it’s out there. It should be by this certain tree. I cannot find it. This is an amazing fake rock / hide a key!!! Mother Nature accepted it and took it for herself. Verdict is still out if the local Fae are playing tricks on me or if I really just am walking to the wrong tree.

It does the job for the most part. The bottom part can be prone to falling out, so if that happens and you don't notice, well, then it's not really doing its job at all. It also is truly tiny like everyone has said. I can only fit one house key in it. I don't love it. It does really look like a rock, though.

Key area could be bigger and more environmentally drier but fir the price it does the trick I have it in a rock garden and unless strategically placed I would not be able to tell it apart from the real ones.

This is just perfect. Despite what other reviewers have said it DOES look like an actual rock. At least the one I received does. It's on the smallish size, but just the proper size to hold a standard house key. I would NOT put this by the front door. Rather place it somewhere in the backyard amongst other rocks and plants. This will really come in handy when you accidentally lock yourself out. Much cheaper than breaking a window or calling a locksmith! I paid five bucks for it and am MORE than pleased with it. I highly recommend that everyone that lives in a house to buy one of these. Good job!

I am quite satisfied with this item. While it is clearly fake rock, it does indeed look like real rock. It also has the weight and texture of real rock. This is no lightweight molded plastic "rock" that will wash downhill in the next heavy rain. In fact, it has the kind of heft necessary to engage in real rock activities, like throwing at raccoons or kicking around the driveway. I intended to lick the rock to confirm that it also tasted like real rock, but I spotted the warning just in time - “This product contains a chemical known to the State of California to cause cancer, birth defects, or other reproductive harm.” The warning itself is no problem for me, because I am confident that this is a warning the state of California would apply to many real rocks. But as I am unwilling to accept personal risk at this time, I will have to forgo licking the rock and assume that the taste is as authentic as the rest of it.

Love the person who invented this - great place to hide a house key without it at all being obvious - blends right in to the lawn area. The fake rock is small and can fit in your hand. The item has some weight and looks very close to a realistic rock. The cover on the back is white plastic and easily pulls out to retrieve the key. I was able to store my spare key that’s of normal size. Overall, it’s a realistic look. I've placed this rock together with other real rocks. You can’t even tell the difference just by looking. However if you run your finger across or hold it, it’s an immediate giveaway. So I suggest you pile some real rocks on it and/or rub some dirt on it so it isn't obvious that it's just lying there. I also don't have it near the door rather around the side of the house where the casual observer isn't going to see anyone accessing the fake rock. Highly recommend purchase. I love it and of course my kids love it; as they often forget their keys.

Needing a place to hide our house key in case we get locked out instead of under the doormat, we bought the hiding rock. The rock does look realistic with a mix of brown and gray colors. The plastic bottom holds the key in snug. It's a great idea with one flaw.The picture is a bit deceptive. It's not a top and bottom that join together with a key in the middle. While it does look like a real rock on the top side, if it happens to be flipped on its side or upside down, it's no longer going to be the great hiding rock you hoped for. To overcome this, we hid the rock too. That way if it does get knocked over, it's not going to be in plain sight.Overall, it's a great product and worth the price.
