Someone please explain, is a speaker needed for this thing to work? Is is supposed to make any sound? I plug a speaker and I don't hear anything. I get mixed reviews some saying that you need a speaker then I hear from others that you don't need a speaker. What is it? I see it has a 3.5mm for audio or headphones. Someone please explain?

Very nice and compact product. Creates a nice relaxing field, worth research. Great value for money, but does require a little assembly and does not come with instructions (no biggie though)
