The instructions for the installation did not match the items in the box. The "Universal Mount Plates" were not included, and one of the reach nuts/washer was missing.Fortunately, the tpi and length of the tuners I was replacing matched the Hipshot product, so I simply reused the old reach nut.Also, they are not "locking tuners" as shown in the instructions and on the box they came in. This may be why the price was reduced as compared to other listings.The screw holes on the Hipshots are offset compared to the examples in the instructions, so I had to re-drill my headstock.Since the Hipshots are superior to the stock tuners on my guitar, and because it was an easy fix, I am disinclined to go to the trouble to make an exchange, and since the guitar is intended as a gift to my daughter it is time-sensitive.I would suggest Amazon reconsider before using this supplier again.

swapped some busted old epiphone tuners for these and the holes didnt line up and the wood is pretty much trash so i didnt even want to attempt to add new holes. if i had realized the mounting plates for 3x3 was so awkward i might have gone a different route. the middle tuners on each side are lower because of the way the plates stack, and i barely got the a and b tuners to screw in because of the extra mm lost. thought about trying to trim them but wasnt sure if i would have to do a return.anyway, 6 inline 10/10. 3x3 ehhh still great tuners, just dont look on the back of that headstock. but i am putting on tuners that cost about half the price of the guitar lol

Changing strings on a Wolfgang by EVH takes a while by its self..but the "Hip Shot" 3X3 mini lock was finished in just minutes. Nice replacements for any Guitar by far! Locks strings down firm as well as having string locks all over the Wolfgang..lol. But I do like to "Over Kill".

I installed these on a B.C. Rich Eagle Special X with a Bixby and it stays in tune now. They are a perfect fit. No reaming the peghole needed.

I'm pleasantly surprised with how they work and sound. I installed them on my Strat and my 2 Gibson Les Paul's and love them. Guitars stay in tune better, play better and I think sound better. I just got a set for my strat to make changing strings easier and was surprised and got 2 more sets for my LP's. The price is great and install was a piece of cake. ( just make sure you order the right set for your guitar )

I've tried several other brands for the same configuration and product - do yourself a favor, and just go straight for Hipshot - the gearing on the elements is superior and I've found that Hipshot holds a tune without slippage more than any of the other cheaper brands I've tried.

These tuning machines are the business. Super easy to install and they look great. Changing strings is a real quick now. I am getting them for all of my guitars!
