Liked: They hold pretty well a "2 x "4, 20 gauge steel piece I was welding to a hole on my car's floor. Initially I bought big magnets and they were overkill. These are perfect for small patches. Don't use them as grounding material, they're painted silver and won't close the arc.

As my welds are done mostly on thin metal (1/4" to 14 gauge) I needed small magnets and these seemed perfect. They are as strong as you'd expect them to be for being as small as they are which is perfectly fine. There is howeer this rubber coating over where the indents are likely to prevent metal sticking to the inside (teh indents) of the magnets. I did end up accidentally melting the rubber to a degree while tacking some thin sheet metal together. There are some times where the magnets are not strong enough to support the 1/4" metal I'm welding.

Buy a set of two that are Hobart brand on Amazon or a set of four from Cappy Tire for the same price. I prefer the Hobart brand but I feel I may have overpaid as I'm only using them for light duty Tig work.

Nice set of magnets. Fairly strong and nice size for small to medium projects. Looking forward to trying them out. I always feel confident in buying name brand products.

Great fabricating aid, Very strong in assembling smaller projects. Excellent holding power than other lesser brands. I would recommend this Hobart product and the larger magnets, as well, for dependable holding power when you need it.

I have been using these awhile now.For the price, and size of these I think its a good product.Not to be used on heavy attachments. The magnet is weak.It works well when welding small pieces of metal. I like these, they have helped me so much, and several projects.

The magnets are very weak and therefore almost useless for their intended purpose. They may be useful in holding small pieces of light gauge sheet metal together for welding but that's about it.
