The hooks attach to either side of the ladder and can be pulled tight. This is helpful should you have ladders of varying sizes. After attaching the ladder stabilizer, I got to the ground and pulled on the ladder. I tried to pull it off of the gutter and it didn't budge. It held tightly. Exactly what you want in a ladder stabilizer! I feel much safer with this on the top of my ladder than without it.

I spend enough time up high on ladders to know the value of a ladder stabilizer. They are, simply put, INVALUABLE! And while I have a DIY version that works quite well, I was intrigued by the device that Holden USA came up with. And eager to give it a try. Let’s see how it measures up…✅ ADVANTAGES ✅✔︎ Simple design that uses tension (from a bungee cord) to stabilize the top of the ladder against a gutter.✔︎ Quality materials, including the bungee cord and hooks.✔︎ Quick and easy set-up. In just a few minutes I had the stabilizer installed and properly adjusted. Once installed, the ladder was fully stabilized, with no slop in the bungee line or interference from components.✔︎ Fully adjustable design to accommodate ladders of different size. The main variables are: 1) the distance between the left and right side rails of the ladder, and 2) the width (or girth) of the side rails. These will determine the position of the inner and outer hooks that are anchored to a gutter ledge.❗️LIMITATIONS❗️✔︎ The design is vulnerable to user-error during set-up. Mostly because there’s no locking mechanism for the inner hooks. If the device is set correctly, this isn’t a problem. However, if there’s not enough tension on the bungee cord between the inner and out hooks, the inner hook could move, throwing the entire assembly out of balance.✔︎ The device requires a gutter with an open ledge for anchoring the hooks. Gutters that have a leaf filter installed may not be compatible.Overall, I really like this ladder stabilizer. For someone like myself who has tons of experience working with and from ladders, I can have the device installed in a flash. It keeps the ladder for drifting, and gives me all the confidence I need when 20-30 ft off the ground. However, for the less experienced user, they should take extra precaution to ensure the inner hook is set properly (i.e. with sufficient cord tension) to keep it from sliding out of position. Bottom line, exercise caution when using this product.At the time of order, the stabilizer was selling for $14.95. That’s a pretty good deal, one that I highly recommend. Good luck!

Finally found a tool to use that will stabilize the ladder while going on a roof with Gutter guards. This tool tightens and holds consistently. I consider it a necessity during roof inspections. Highly recommend this product, safety first!

It's that time of year where I have to get out the ladder and clean out my gutters quite frequently. I’ve been doing it for years and when I saw these I wanted to try them out. Such a great idea that provides additional peace of mind. While I'm definitely always extra careful whenever climbing a ladder, this added safety Dr vice is appreciated. One of those things you didn’t ever know you needed until you tried it!

I use this with my Little Giant expandable ladder, and connect the ladder to the gutters when going up on the roof. I feel a LOT more secure going onto the second story, and climbing over the top of the ladder to get onto the roof. Won't use my ladder without it now, good buy.

I was a little concerned about this because it sounded like the part of the bungee that went across the ladder might constitute a tripping hazard. This is not the case; the part is tucked away safely under where it’s not a risk of tripping.It’s very intuitive. Very easy to use. Takes just a minute to position. And it really helps stabilize the ladder. I wouldn’t want to get up on it again without using it. It also looks sturdy and well-made and like it will last for years.

This clamp helps make sure that safely measures are being used at all times! This helps secure the ladder so that you isn't a higher chance of it moving, or falling. I like any kind of equipment that will help secure your safely while on a job. Which is why I love these!

This may work fine as a ladder stabilizer, but I am using it for general camping purposes. It works well for strapping all sorts of things together, both when packing your stuff up for a commute or to hang things from tent frames.It's a decent quality bungee cord with several hooks and attachment 'balls'. I expect it to last as long as any standard bungee cord but this styles will be useful in any number of applications.
