Closest to an actual task chair with lumbar support. There used to be task chairs that weren’t super cushy, but were excellent for lower back pain and sometimes pricier, but worth it. This is the closest I’ve found, but could have the back closer to the seat. Easy assembly and sturdy.

This is an excellent, professional, workplace quality chair! You can't go wrong with HON!It arrived three days ahead of my scheduled delivery date. The box is the original factory box and was sturdy and in very good condition. It was easy to carry into the house and unpack. All parts were present and included an Allen wrench (to add to your home collection!).The chair was very easy to assemble – I was able to do so by myself. You will need to attach the back to the seat with the four screws provided. You will then attach the wheels – they easily snap in to the bottom.Next you will put the wheel part and lift mechanism into the bottom of the chair and you’re done. The instructions are photos that are easy to follow. The seat is well padded and comfortable, and it is a wide seat. The back is also comfortable and gives good support. The seat has a tension knob to adjust the “lean” of the back, with a lever to lock in place. The lever also allows you to adjust the height of the seat and both the highest and lowest heights should accommodate most desks. The not so great . . .I am 5’4” and front to back the seat was too long for me. When I sit all the way toward the back, the edge of the seat hits right below my knees. You could put a pillow behind your back, but for me, that defeats the purpose. So, with regrets I am returning the chair. What you really need to know . . .If you go ahead and purchase this chair, after you attach the back to the bottom – stop and put the chair on a surface so you can sit on the seat to see if it will be suitable for you.I put the entire chair together before testing the seat, and herein lies the problem. There are no disassembly instructions so I had to consult YouTube, and then it’s almost impossible to get the chair apart and all the parts back in the box. Also – although there were no shipping charges . . . you will be charged for return shipping. And you need to get the box to the UPS Store.

This is a serious office chair. When you sit on it, you just get the feeling that they wanted to build the best chair they could; it is engineering done properly. If you are looking for a chair with 24 different adjustments, you will likely not appreciate what this chair does offer; exceptional comfort and excellent build quality. I too was brainwashed into thinking I needed 3 different arm rest adjustments and tilt mechanisms, and was originally looking at those types of chairs for my home studio/office. Then I visited another Architectural firm that had a dozen of these chairs and tried one out. I purchased it the next day (as well as the regular height version). If you use your office chair a lot, need something that will be comfortable for hours on end, and need it to last for a long time, I doubt you will be disappointed with these chairs. Add a set of fancy casters like I also reviewed and you're good to go.One thing I should mention. If you run hot like I do, it may be worth looking at the fabric version of this chair. My regular height version is cloth, and I find it to be a little cooler for extended work sessions.I would recommend this, and will purchase again.

I'm writing this review because I read hundreds searching for the right chair for working from home. I returned a few to Staples before I found this one. Chairs are very personal in that everyone is different, but I want to let you know how happy I am with this chair. It's very well built and very comfortable. The cushions are solid and comfortable...not cheap and flimsy like some chairs I tried. There is a nice amount of lumbar support which I really like too. I do NOT sit for hours in this chair. I have a standing desk, but wanted to alternate between sitting and standing during my day. So I wanted a chair that didn't take up a lot of room. I also didn't want arms. When I'm working sitting down, my hands/arms are resting at 90 degrees, on my keyboard/desk anyway. I also play guitar, so didn't want arms in the way when I want to take a break! You're able to easily adjust this chair up so its easy to lean back if you want that, plus, it lifts to a decent height (I'm 5'10", and don't need the full extension to have my legs/knees at 90 degrees). After a long search for a solid chair, I'm very happy with this purchase.

This chair is my flippin JAM. It's stylish for its price point, hella comfortable, and the (optional) lack of arms makes it easy to play guitar or slide underneath a desk. I purchased the black version with SofThread Leather, and having read some of the reviews for the polyester version I am very glad I did so - it seems like it will last much longer. Zero regrets on this purchase.

I'm a tall guy (6’2) and this stool is just perfect for the work desk I built myself, the table top is 34” high from the floor, this is pretty much the minimum height of desk I would recommend for this chair, any lower and you will probably be sitting to high even at the lowest position of the chair. This stool is a lot more comfortable than my previous IKEA task chair, even when they were brand new, the cushion are thick and firm.I changed the caster right away to protect my hardwood floor as they are not very good like the other reviewer said.

Was looking for an armless chair because I like to cross legs freely, even sometimes sit "Indian style" on the seat.Bought this chair because the attachment of the back to the seat looked more substantial than the flimsy single-bar kind I've had before, which tend to get loose and wobbly over time. Indeed the attachment is substantially engineered.Assembly went pretty smoothly. Casters snap into base easily. Biggest hassle is lining up 4 bolt holes to attach seat back to the cushion. I found that I could place the seat back horizontally on the ground, then prop my toes under the edge of the cushion to help align the holes. They give you a ridiculously heavy duty wrench for the simple task of tightening the bolts. You could build a freight train with the thing.Fabric is a tough, grainy material. Feels like it won't rip easily. The cushion was a lot firmer than I'd expected, based on others' descriptions of the comfort. It feels like a dense piece of memory foam. It is not uncomfortable, but not luxurious. I trust it will be durable. The back has better lumbar support than the picture shows. The seat back spoons in above the lumbar. The pneumatic adjustment for the seat height works the opposite of any I've used: you push down to adjust the height. At first I thought it was broken , as I was pulling up.One consideration is that the back has no up-down adjustment. I'm nearly 6 feet tall and find that the lumbar support fits nicely. It might be forgiving for a shorter or taller person, but am not sure.

Update 11/6/20Just received the third one of these we have bought, and still using the two previous ones. Remain very impressed with the quality and ease of assembly and how well packaged they are. I highly recommend this model (5701).This is the chair to have if you are a larger/bigger person. The seat is ample for larger people and the height range is good for those with longer legs. The chair is sturdily built and provides good back support. The seat is 19" wide x 20" deep, and the back is 18" wide x 16" high. Padding is very comfortable. Assembly was very easy using the included tools, and all parts were well wrapped and packed. The instructions are easy to follow. The black material is nice, and easy to keep clean. The raising/lowering mechanism is smooth and works well. The wheels roll very smoothly. Even though the base is plastic, it's very substantial and looks like it will be quite durable. We have had many office/computer chairs over the years, and this is by far the best one yet, and at a very reasonable price. Shop around, you can get it at the lower end of the price range with free shipping.---Update 8 months later: The chair is still holding up very well after very heavy use, nothing loose or wobbly, material is still good and strong, wheels are fine, raise/lower function still like new.....And after a Year and 8 months of daily use on a hardwood floor, one of the casters broke. Luckily, I had an extra one on hand that fit that I had salvaged off an older chair. The casters could be a little beefier.
