very loose on the spool holder and regular thread spools will not fit over the bend where the spools go. Large cones might work.

See MKC's photo in the gallery for proper way to use. It's not an elegant tool but it does work with my large format spool. I never would have figured it out without MKC's photo.

I use Aurfil thread for piecing and this does not work with how it unwinds from the spool. I bought this for my featherweight not a good purchase

So, I'm sitting here with 8, yes EIGHT different types of spools of thread. The ONLY one that remotely fits on this stand is Glide embroidery thread. The shaft that goes over the spool pin is way to large, causing the largest cone type threads to tilt, adding drag to the thread. The typical Gutermann or crosswound spools do not fit over the shaft at all! Not only that...but after pulling it off of my spool pin, a gross amount of rust fell out of the shaft all over the spool pin plate protector! Thank God that was on there too protect it from dumping all down into my machine! Lots of rust! Only giving 1 start because I can't submit none. Returning mine. 😪

Used for cone thread spools on both my featherweight and babylock machines. Outstanding!!

This product looks just like the photos on the listing in the close up shots. It appears to be made very well. It fits loose on the spool spindle, but that's to be expected if it's wide enough to support a spool of Aurifil. But how does the thread go on it? The picture of the machine on the listing shows the spool fitting over it until it nearly rests on the Featherweight itself. As you can see from the close up shots, this isn't possible with the metal arm connector.I will give it 4 stars due to the construction, but I can't give it 5 because it cannot fulfill the intended purpose. Unless the seller can tell me what I'm missing, I will return it.

This “DOES NOT” work. It will not fit a regular spool of thread. I have 11 machines and it does not fit any of them. If you would see how it’s made it’s impossible to fit any machine.

I have a Singer 221 and this thread stand is very "wobbly" when I place it on the spool pin as shown in the picture on the website. I will keep it because I threw away the packaging; but I will probably never use it. This is not the seller's fault. I don't know if perhaps my machine has been modified. It's a 1937 model and I've only had it a few months. I purchased it to use my Aurifil cross-threaded spools but they do not fit in any way on the stand. It appears to be a quality-made product.
