Honeywell electronic digital entry levers feature traditional key access as well as the ability to unlock with a Programmable 4 to 8 digit user code (keyless entry). These Honeywell locks allow the owner to program up to 50 different user codes and delete them as desired. The Honeywell polished brass electronic digital deadbolt allows you to set an automatic lock function that will return the deadbolt to the locked position at a programmed amount of time after the lock is opened. There is also a vacation mode that puts the system into a low power consumption state and disables all buttons and functions until the programmer chooses to reactivate the lock. The lock features bump protection, an installation hardware kit and 2 keys, a single cylinder deadbolt, and is easy to install with PHILLIPS head screwdriver. The battery requires 4 ‘aa’ alkaline batteries (not included). We purchased a brand new Honeywell keyless entry lever door lock (model 8734301) via Amazon on March 4, 2024. We rarely used the lock as it is not the primary enterance to our home. A little more than a year after installing the door lock, the lock/unlock buttons stopped working. We've replaced the batteries, which didn't help. We then went process of resetting the door lock as decribed in the manual, still no luck. Honetwell does not have a tech support phone number, so we filled out an onlibe form. We recieved a reply from Honeywell saying a company call "Resideo" makes the door lock and that we should contact them. We contacted Resideo via the link Honetwell provided and there is no indication that Resideo manufactures key-less entry door locks. We called the Resideo supoport line and after going through a carousel of recordings we got a recording that indicated Ressdeo does not provide tech support for homepwner (consumer) products. Never again will we purchase Honeywell products.

The lock took a little patience to install and set up at first, but looks great, good value for the price, and worked well (but read on). After about 6 weeks the keypad started to be problematic with some keys (notably the 1,4,7) not responding. Contacted customer service who gave troubleshooting ideas (which I had already tried) and then replaced the unit under warranty no further issues or hurdles. Angel from customer service was very professional and polite and once I sent her the documentation of my purchase ordered me a new unit which came within days. New one installed and set up (easier now that I knew how) and is working fine again. Would buy again if I needed to.

Pay attention to which side is up, which side faces the door, etc. Otherwise, it's a 30 minute job, unless you need to drill the holes in the door.Replacing the electronic lifetime guaranteed Kwikset (whom did not fulfill their warranty) and this was much less expensive while having the same feature set and simple installation. You can't rekey it like the Kwikset, but so what?

I took a chance and bought this even after reading the poor reviews as I thought “Honeywell normally makes a decent product”. I was wrong. The reviews are correct, this lock is garbage and Honeywell should be ashamed. What I really regret is my wife threw out all the packaging and I can’t return it. The lock simply does not work, well that’s not entirely accurate, it works once in a while but no rhyme or reason… Do not be fooled like I was, do not buy this piece of crap.

The lock looks good but our broke before the 6 month mark. Customer service is extremely slow (email-only replies usually take at least a week) but decided to refund me. Unfortunately, it has been 4 months and 8 or 9 emails from me and still no cheque.

This product has been a nightmare. The first issue was that the latch assembly was too large for an existing hole. The product description doesn't really detail that size so I guess you get to wait until you buy it to see that it really does not fit standard doors. This can be a problem because most of us probably don't have the right tools to enlarge the latch hole and so you are looking at spending more money. The work around I found was to use a drill bit with a drill and reverse out, slowly shaving around the hole. It was super tedious but worked, but I would still recommend just buying a lock from a hardware store. The second issue I found was that the instructions are fairly inconsistent. Sometimes the instructions tell you the latch should face one way and other times, they show the latch facing another way. Cool. Trial and error is always fun. The instructions will refer you to diagrams that don't exist. The programming instructions are probably the most complicated I have seen and this is my third automatic lock to install and program (so fairly good at this). Anything that complicated without use. But you can get past all of that, what I can't get past is that the the lock doesn't actually work. By that I mean a few things. Keeping the door open and just hitting the lock mechanism you will see that sure it locks, but you can just push it open really easily. This is the kind of lock where you just need a credit card or even something thinner to push it in. The other locking problem is when you close the door to lock it to the frame, it doesn't actually latch and work. So there are work arounds, but generally given the fact that the lock is so weak, they aren't worth it. If you buy something to lock, security is probably your main concern and this just won't cut it.I will say Amazon was great on working with me for a refund, but for other buyers, just get Schlage, they are consistently good locks.

I have purchased and currently use similar locks from other brands and the battery lasts a long time on them. The better locks only uses a small solenoid to enable and disable the lever. This lock actually uses a motor to enable and disable the lever which uses more electricity and cuts the battery life. It's also very noisy and does not lock automatically. If I could do it again I'd save my money and purchase the better brand knob. With that said it does work. You just have to remember to hit the lock button when you leave and keep in mind that you'll need to change the batteries more often. The quality fit and finish were just fine. It's just the locking mechanism that I didn't like.

Overall, lock appears quite robust and operates reliably. I did not like two features, however. The first annoying feature is when the latch button is turned to the "locked" position immediately after re-entry. The motor mechanism will operate in redundant fashion, wasting battery power and causing additional wear on moving parts. This is not the case with other comparably priced brands like Forge, Gatehouse and Garrison - all of which I have used. The second annoying feature is the unnecessary programming key entries needed to add a user code. Again, this might be a useful feature when switching to a new master code from default factory setting (where to make sure you have it set as desired you have to key it in twice) but is unnecessary for user codes where you can easily delete erroneous codes. This need for confirmation by re-entering codes is not found in other brands I have installed.
