I received the Hon&Guan 6 Inch Carbon Filter and put it to work in my grow tent setup, and it’s been quietly doing its job ever since. The Australian virgin charcoal inside is clearly top-notch-odors from my hydroponic tomatoes are now a thing of the past, and the air in my workspace feels noticeably fresher. Installation was straightforward, and the included pre-filter helps keep the main filter running longer without fuss.One thing I appreciate is how well this filter handles high humidity, which is a must for hydroponics. The heavy-duty build, with its aluminum flanges and steel mesh, seems ready to last through many growing cycles. Compared to some refillable models on the market, this filter is not designed to be refilled, so when it’s spent, you’ll need a full replacement. For me, that’s not a big deal-I prefer the simplicity and reliability of swapping out the whole unit rather than fiddling with messy charcoal refills.I use this filter with a 6-inch inline duct fan to vent my grow tent, and it’s kept my entire basement from smelling like a greenhouse, even during peak flowering. If you’re looking for a solid, no-nonsense solution for odor control, this filter fits the bill. Fresh air, zero drama.

This filter is a great value as it seems to perform just as well as my more-expensive 6” filters. It comes with a washable prefilter which definitely helps extend the service life of the filter.

I paired this carbon filter with my same-brand inline fan, and the difference was immediate and noticeable. The smells were simply gone. I use it in a grow tent setup and even when they’re at their stinkiest, the air outside the tent smells completely neutral. The build quality is solid, and it was super easy to install. I think it’s a great value for the price and would definitely get another if needed.

Works great, easy set up, has a good weight. It’s built sturdy and it’s good quality. You can feel and tell that the charcoal filter in it is working as well. Reduces the smell of my grow and helps keep the air purified.
