I was planning to make something like this. Then found this set, and for the price it wouldn't have been worth buying materials and investing time into making them. Decent quality kit, except the screws that hold down the hood plates are weak junk. I used self tappers and called it a day. Would have gotten a better rating but they are rusty after just 1 week.

Only thing that MIGHT be stainless is the flat plate. Everything else is rusty and looks like crap. I broke one of the little tiny screws off in my hood... this kit is cheap and no good!

Drilled into my car hood to install. It was quick and easy. Pins and locks are sturdy. Stays on during car wash too.

These hood pins are sturdy and look good on our race car. They have been on for less than eight weeks, but show no signs of corrosion or disclosing. We bought them for function, but they look great as well. The cables are an important feature and are corrosion resistant too.

I bought a vehicle that had been in an accident and only had the second hood latch. These hood pins have worked great until I can get the front replaced.

Good value. Good looks. Used a impact with drill attachments you cannot mess this install up as it is super easy.
