They worked really well. They were easy to install. I've read so many reviews on many hood pins and chose to go with these. Glad I did👍👍👍

Pins were way too short for my vehicle (2006 Mustang).I ended up having to re-fabricate them by cutting off the bottom threads (while making sure to not mess up the threads so they were still usable). Then I had to purchase coupler sleeves & regular bolts to add the length needed to run from my radiator support through my hood. The torsion clips are also crappy...they were constantly rusting themselves & leaving rust/surface marks on the guard plates. They did open/close easily enough though. The self-tapping screws that are supposed to be used to attach the guard plates are complete garbage...4 of the 8 heads snapped off while trying to put them into my hood. I took the time to pre-drill pilot holes for each screw to reduce the force while hand-driving the short screws, but they still snapped off with very little force...which then meant I had to drill another 8 holes in my hood, fill & paint the original 8 pilot holes, & buy new self-tapping screws.Overall, I was very disappointed with this set. I was hoping that for something so simple it would be very hard to mess it up, but I learned that lesson the hard way. My opinion, spend the little extra & get a quality set that you won't have to re-fab & constantly clean up.

I used these on both the hood and trunk of my Miata track car. I recommend rubber gaskets between the plates and the car. The gaskets are available from various online race suppliers, couldn't find them on Amazon. Also, throw away the screws and use rivets on the plates for a much cleaner installation.

They're great for the price. I replaced some standard hairpin style pins with these. The hairpins were cool looking but it was too easy to pull them out wrong and scratch the hood. I'm good about it since it's my car, but others have disappointed me and left scratches. These torsion style hood pins go on and come off much easier. My only complaint is that they slide around a bit on the stud (which I probably should have expected from this style.)Edit:I have no idea why, but there is a weird white-ish residue that seems to seep from the screws on these hood pins when they get wet. It wasn't an issue with my previous hood pins. It's not a big deal, but it makes me wonder about longevity. I'm not going to deduct a star, they're still good pins for the price.

This holds the hood down very securely and the metal is solid. If you decide to go with these instead of more expense or less noticeable hood pins, you will want flat washers, lock washers, and maybe some locktite. when installing take your time and measure twice, or more before you drill!!!I plan on getting different hood pins in the future mainly for aesthetic, and security reasons but I will keep these around in case I need them because they do a very good job.
