I got these for my grandson who is 8 now and has developed a love for fishing all the sudden.He loved them and loves having his "own" pliers now.These are great for getting swallowed hooks out from deep in the fish.We so alot of catch and release so its good to get the hooks out rather than just cutting the line.Nice set to round out a tackle box.

I am sorry to say that this little fishing plier set is not very impressive. The pliers are absolutely not what I would want to deal with sharp fish hooks. I find it to be flexible and thinly constructed. Might work in a pinch, but not what I would consider quality. For the price, look at KastKing for better pliers sets at this price point.

I mostly fly fish and the lanyards for these enticed me but the items are larger than I want to use for my fishing vest/sling bag. They will go in my tackle box for future use though. The scissors are fine but much larger than a regular pair of snips. The pliers have nice options to do various tasks but the small level near the hinge to keep them open/ closed can be tricky to operate at times.

The braid cutting scissors work well and cut cleanly. The long nose pliers work good for a little better reach at removing hooks that standard length pliers don't quite reach. They are not super heavy duty so if you are planning on using them for twisting wire, or if you need to open split rings you may want pliers that can handle a little more torque. However, for general use, hook removal, squeezing split shot etc., they are a nice value and an essential tool.

The handles on the scissors are comfortable and the oversized finger holes makes them extremely easy to use. The scissors cut monofilament, fluorocarbon and braid with ease. The pliers are well made and have a spring that holds them open and this is a feature I really like. The pliers also have a lock to keep them closed when not in use. The length of the pliers is ideal when you need to remove hooks towards the back of a fish's mouth. The tethers that come with the set work well and the clips are easy to use when attaching to belts loops.

Just recieve and used the Pullther fishing HOOK Remover Fishing Pliers. First off- these would make a great gift, the packaging/box they came is was super fancy and classy. I love the thether that comes on the sets of pliers- I hope this will help me not lose this set into the lake...ha. The grip on the pliers is solid with the help of a rubber type coating on them. All in all a better than average set of pliers for a good price and good value- I give this product 4 STRONG STARS!!!
