First, the title implies I'd be getting 3 belts for $6.92, and I only received one belt. And then, despite the part number being the same, this is clearly three inches shorter than the original which was still stretchy and continued to turn the brush just fine, it just was missing a chunk so I replaced it... it's now back on until I can get a belt that fits..This new one, though, was very difficult to put on and after a short time pulls the motor so hard that the belt starts coming off the pillar and rubs loudly against the plastic channel it runs through.I really, really wish that the Hoover Store would publish the proper product size for the 38528-040 belt. Shoppers will notice that they publish at least three different sizes, and not one of them suits that of a belt.As a result, in order to replace my Hoover brand part, I'm going to have to buy it from anyone OTHER than Hoover itself, and that seems very counter intuitive!#update#I placed the belt on a plastic container, added hot water to it a couple of times, and stretched it out over several weeks. I could then get it to work - somewhat - for a few minutes at a time. Then, back to the container for more stretching. After several months it would fit and now, over a year after purchase, I can get it to work nearly as long as I need it to to vacuum my house. If it lasts a while longer, I MIGHT move this to a two star review.

I have an older upright and the belt number has changed but the new works great.

The belt fits my Hoover Elite 350 although it can be a bit of a struggle to install, getting the belt over the brush roller and motor spindle spindle will take a little muscle but it is supposed to be tight in order to not slip when in use. So far it is working fine and has brought my Elite 350 back to life.

After reading many customers stating it was hard to put on I was preparing for the worse. Yes it's much shorter than the stretched broken belt removed by the 1.5" everyone states. I put the belt on the brush and installed. Thought it was going to be hard to stretch that far to get it on the pin. I grabbed with an index finger on either side and stretched it over the pin. No problem. Spun it a couple times to get it comfortable, working fine. Replaced the old -027 with this -040 that superceded it. Hoover Runabout vintage 1998.

Bought for HOOVER Elite Rewind Plus Upright Vacuum. Fits, direct replacement. Budget priced and arrived FAST - will buy again. Hoover recommends to replace this belt 3x a year.

I was nervous to buy it as I wasn't sure that it would fit my vacuum the only thing I had to go by was the belt number from my broken belt. My vacuum set up makes it easy to install it does require a little stretching to put on, that at first I thought it wouldn't fit but afterward it was a perfect fit. And when I first used vacuum after installing there was the smell of rubber burning which I find normal when using anything new that is plastic or rubber, smell was gone after a couple of uses. And I like that I have two additional belts if needed too.Vacuum Model: Hoover Elite Cyclonic #UH70070Edit: New Belt broke after 2 months of use, but good thing this order came with 3 belts total. Second belt is still going, hopefully will last for a while. I vacuum almost daily as i have a dog and just dont like fur everywhere. And its been 3 months since replacing with second belt. So i still recommend, will edit review if anything happens again

It's great. It has to be stretched before installation. Like stretching a balloon before blowing air into it you need to relax the rubber or you'll break it. Stretch it all around and it will go on fine. It seems too small at first.

First thing I noticed was the belt was not labeled the same as the package although the numbers are the same. Package=38528-040 (like original belt).Actual belt=3852-8040.As soon as I installed the belt (yes I installed correctly) and turned on the vacuum, the belt snapped. I started thinking no wonder why they dont allow returns. Then I decided to take another look and found that the brush assembly was jammed up with hair inside the end cap preventing the belt from being able to turn the brush. Second belt worked like a charm once I removed all the hair. :)

It's nice to receive 3 in a pack, just in case I need more than one. Belts seem very durable.I really struggled to get the belt on at first. I first tried putting the belt around the brush roller, installing the roller, and trying to stretch it down to the metal engine pin, but there was no way it was going to reach. I then took the belt back off and tried pulling it apart manually with my hands, but dang these things are tough! I couldn't get it stretched that much and by the time I got it back on the brush roller, it did not maintain the stretch I had put into it.Finally, I put the belt back on the brush roller, held the brush roller right in front of the metal engine pin, hooked the belt around the engine pin, then pulled and pushed the brush roller up and into its spot where it turns. It was so difficult, I thought something might break, but it didn't. The brush roller seems to be made of a pretty hard plastic, so it shouldn't break. Also, the brush roller seems to kind of lock into place, so even though there was a ton of pressure from the belt, it held securely in place.Hope that helps someone else!
