No stiffeners in the boot therefore they slide down on a horse, you get what you pay for.

These were purchases to help with flies around my horses ankles but they fit so loose they ended up being a total waste of time. I’m not sure if the seller doesn’t know the shape of a horses legs, but these just slid down and turned into muddy messes around their ankles. Don’t waste your time and money with these.

I ordered the Medium for my 15.2hh quarter and Thoroughbred cross mare, and she has good sized bone. The Medium has a maximum circumference of 13.2 lower pastern, 17.1 for upper leg circumference, and 13.2 for the length of the fly boot. Also, the velcro tabs make it easy to customize how snug you want them (make them narrower as needed). Plus, they have a nice neoprene covering on the internal seams to keep the horse comfortable. They don't droop or slide down either. These are great boots with strong velcro, durable mesh, and wonderful sizing options. I am very happy! I would repurchase these fly boots.
