Warning -- Warning -- This is a great printer right up to the point that the printhead dies suddenly. I use this printer very lightly and yet the printhead died inexplicably one evening. I haven't even used up the ink in all of the cartridges. It printed a page and after a few corrections in the document, I tried to print the revised version of a single page and no go. This is such a problem that HP has a special notice on their website and all you need do is provide the model number and serial number (located on the rear of the case) and they will initiate a replacement without regards to the warranty or even proof of purchase. aling with HP for the replacement (for as long as that program lasts) then by all means get this machine.UPDATE: I have bumped my rating up to four stars from one star and am not a happy camper. HP replaced my printer with a refurbished printer and it works great. The customer service rep that I dealt with explained that the printer head had a defect and that all the refurbished machines now have the improved print head. The printer does everything that it should and does if flawlessly. I guess they are right when the say the squeaky wheel gets the grease because boy was I squeaking. Thanks HP.

Worst product ever!!! My first experience was excellent.. everything was perfect with this product, but as the time went by, I realized that this is the worst buying decision I ever made. I hardly printed 50 to 60 black and white copies and 5 or so color prints and I ran out of cartridges!!!! This is utter cheating. I kept the paper quality to "Draft" so that it consumes less ink, still no use. Adding to it, the cartridges are outrageously expensive!!! almost costs you 7000!! WTF is this? What were you thinking HP? I can buy a PRINTER for that price, god-damn-it!! I utterly got cheated by HP and I lost trust in this company. I curse it every time I had to go out for printing my documents, may HP go through a similar pain and go bankrupt!!! I am not over reacting, but venting out my frustration because I lost my hard earned money... I bought HP laptop earlier and THANKFULLY it is ok till date. I am not going back to HP products, whatsoever!!!

Love this printer. I was reluctant to purchase because the reviews were mixed. It was the least expensive printer with all of the features I was looking for, so decided to take a chance. Glad I did. I have absolutely no complaints and I've had this printer for 6 months. Wireless printing works great, fax works great, printing is fast. Copying works great. Love that I can see when ink is low, how low it is and when I'll need more. I've had my previous printer since 2002 and it's also an HP, so maybe my expectations are low since this one is clearly so much more advanced than a printer/copier/scanner from 13/14 years ago! But, I can't imagine needing anything more than this new printer. It's so much faster than my old one. Granted, I use it for my business and it's only me using it. I don't have a ton of printing projects. I print few pages a day probably. Sometimes I need to print a 20 page lease or 30 pages worth of applications. Works great and fast for that. It's everything I need.

I had a older HP All-In-One that was not wireless. It was running low on ink (I don't print often) and sometimes would jam. I discovered the ink was $65 and this new printer was $89 and had many features my current one didn't so I upgraded. So far, I've been delighted. It connected to my home network easily in just a few steps. The HP app I downloaded on my iPhone and iPad and am now able to print from anywhere in my home on any device. You can even e-mail a document to the printer's own e-mail address and it sitting there when you get home printed and waiting!I also joined HP's ink program (heavily promoted in the packaging). I pay $2.99 a month and when one of the ink cartridges will soon be running low the PRINTER orders more ink which will arrive all covered by the monthly fee. The bonus on this unit is it uses FOUR ink cartridges. So, you can run low on yellow ink and not have to replace a "tri-color" cartridge.. you simply replace.. yellow. I had an old Canon printer than worked this way long ago and it was so much cheaper to run than one that may have plenty of two colors left inside but it low on one.I highly recommend this unit! Scanning is a breeze too. Why they still include a fax in an All-In-One escapes me as I haven't sent or received one in year but no hard.

For this particular printer, if you only consider the feature set, I would have given it 4-5 stars. The issue is that 6 weeks into ownership, we have experienced a problem with the printhead which requires a replacement printer. This issue isn't something that should happen with a new printer, but it has.Because we're overseas with the military, we now have to wait for the replacement printer to arrive and then return the original. Quite a lot of hassle for something which really should break in the first year. When it was working it did as advertised: duplex printing, scanning and faxing at reasonable speeds.1st Update: HP NEVER SENT THE PRINTER! Even though I asked at least three times during my original phone call, no printer was shipped. I called again and was assured that a replacement would be sent to the nearest exchange store (even though I told them several times it was purchased via Amazon). It never happened! Then they asked me to arrange to have it returned via the exchange store even though I reminded them, again, that the printer wasn't purchased there and base exchange had nothing to do with the purchase. This would be the equivalent of asking me to return it to Best Buy after buying it from PCMall.com. This may be the most frustrating and most dysfunctional customer service experience I've ever had.Naturally, after contacting the Base Exchange, they said of course they cannot handle a return since it wasn't their product. At this point, I decided to simply go back and contact Amazon even though we were outside the original 30-day return window.2nd UPDATE:I would like to give Amazon 4 of 5 stars because the minute I contacted them regarding our issues handling the return with HP, they sent a replacement immediately. The reason for the lower score is that they would not send a pre-paid label to ship it with. Frankly, after all the hassle we had with HP over this item, it was nice to finally just send it back to someone. Perhaps Amazon can get somewhere.3rd UPDATEHP did contact us through there manager system and offered to reimburse us the cost of shipping back to Amazon. So at least we were not out of pocket. The biggest problem is now the second brand-new printer is experiencing the same issues as the first one. It appears that this entire run of printers has an incredibly high failure rate. It's really a shame, the feature set is just about perfect for the home office when it's working, but I would not recommend this particular product to anyone.4th UPDATEWe eventually sent the second printer back to Amazon as well because of the difficulty of dealing with HP. We are currently using an Epson Workforce printer that has behaved quite well even though it doesn't have as nice an interface or feature set. One thing it does have is a working print head and no errors.
