I needed very odd this size tap and die for just one job... so I bought cheap, knowing they need not last very long. The tap worked OK .... the die had no taper.... could not be started. Do not buy, even for one job.

M12 x 1mm is a very specific Tap. I used it to re-thread my rear axle that was slightly damaged and was wearing out couple of Thru-axles before.Re-threading is very easy task as long as you make sure to keep the tap straight so the thread remains straight. It cleaned the thread and Ialso used the Die to work on the Thru-axle side.
