After 4 years it don't work anymore, kept getting lower, developed a loud hum then completely quit.

I see people complaining about the speakers blowing out when they crank the volume. I give it four stars because of this, but overall it works great.

For the price this is fantastic - the remote control is cheap and backwards, but works fine, the subwoofer / amp has good bass and we haven't cranked the speakers too high because of the other reviews that noted they blow easily. Now you need six red white holes to plug in all the speakers so we only have the subwoofer / center speaker (1 pair) and front speakers (2nd pair) hooked up because our Uverse cable box only has four of those type of outputs - which is fine as far as I'm concerned for now as we have an extra pair of speakers in reserve and the improvement from our crummy Vizio speakers is just wonderful - also note we have to mute the TV speakers otherwise there's an odd reverb (but that's fine - they are crummy anyway).

I got this for our bed room because my TV had bad sound. I was not looking for great sound, but clear. not bad for being a cheap system, and it's a lot better than the TV sound. So I am happy

I had just bought a Westinghouse LED tv. Well my laptop speakers sounded better than the tv. So I bought this Curtis system looking for normal sound. I knew it wouldn't blow me away. I was just looking for some what better than laptop quality sound. Did the job for 1 day, and blew 3 speakers. The remote never worked. COMPLETELY A PILE OF JUNK...

This product should only be purchased if you want to use it for one component, e.g., 0ne TV, etc. The inputs are outdated and you have to use the Aux. and DVD inputs at the same time to get 5.1 surround sound. I used a separate switch box that has 4 inputs and one output. I plugged that into the sound system to play all of my AV components. With that major limitation, it works well.

This has cheap written all over it. It's like they tried to make it as cheap as possible just to make as much profit as possible.Don't recommend it to anyone.
